David Harbour has dominated headlines following the release of his ex Lily Allen’s explosive album West End Girl, in which she details his philandering.
After years of presenting a happy marriage, the songstress, 40, lifted the veil on his cheating and betrayal, just weeks before it was revealed he had been accused of bullying his Stranger Things co-star Millie Bobby Brown.
Now, as Stranger Things approaches its last ever episode, whispers are reverberating about David, 50, no longer ‘being protected’ by the likes of Netflix – meaning further secrets beyond infidelity and alleged bullying may come to light.
Speaking on the The Daily Mail’s new entertainment show The Insiders, The Mail on Sunday’s Editor-at-Large, Charlotte Griffiths – a self-professed Lily Allen ‘superfan’ – gave her take on David’s future and the ‘irreparable damage’ to his reputation.
Charlotte notes that on West End Girl, Lily alludes to ‘protecting his secrets’, while also shrewdly pointing out that the streaming giant’s desire to run the show’s final season ‘without a hitch’, means they may have been keeping a mask on the star.

As well as his marital woes, it has also been revealed that he had been accused of bullying his Stranger Things co-star Millie Bobby Brown (the co-stars pictured earlier this month)
On The Insiders, Charlotte states: ‘Lily does say “I’ve been protecting a lot of your secrets”. So I wonder whether from other people, not from Lily, who have been protecting his secrets might stop doing so?’
West End Girl is Lily’s ode to her marriage to David, to whom she was married for four years after meeting on dating app Raya, with 14 tracks detailing in brutal honesty the breakdown of their open relationship.
She notes it is not just Lily who may be shielding the star, but also industry insiders who are vested in their own interests to protect David, who plays police chief Jim Hopper in Stranger Things, ahead of the finale of the show in December.
She went on: ‘The people at Netflix were of course really invested in Stranger Things and they really wanted the final season to go without a hitch…
‘So of course they’ve been using all their might behind the scenes to protect him but with the final season over, that obligation no longer exists so I wonder if there’s more to come?’
Charlotte points out that the distasteful stories coming to light about the star are a worrying accompanyment to a show, which is in fact a children’s programme, saying: ‘I think it has irreparably tarnished his image…
‘Don’t forget Stranger Things is more or less a kids’ show, it stars children, the stars of it are child stars who have grown up’.

Earlier this month, Charlotte revealed David faced an internal enquiry after British actress Millie allegedly complained about his behaviour towards her.
She went on: ‘I revealed Millie Bobby Brown has had a bit of a fall out behind the scenes and he successfully kept that quiet for about a year or two…
‘Of course because of the Lily saga, the magnifying glass was on him and it has since emerged that Millie Bobby Brown has accused him of bullying her’,
Following the album’s October release, a frenzy surrounded the star when she asked: ‘Who the f**k is Madeline?’ regarding one of David’s extracurricular partners.
Just days after the release, Charlotte incredibly managed to discover the identity og his former lover, as The Mail on Sunday exclusively revealed the identity of ‘Madeline’ as costume designer Natalie Tippett.
She said: ‘I was very proud of myself because, I found out who Madeline was, I found Madeline!’
