Alex Reid has revealed he has been rushed to hospital with a suspected bleed on his brain as he gave a health update on Instagram on Tuesday.
The former cage fighter, 50, who was married to Katie Price for just 11 months in 2010, shared a worrying update from hospital revealing he has undergone a CT scan.
Alex has claimed he is now waiting on an MRI scan, after his walk started to become impaired as if he was ‘punch drunk’.
The Big Brother winner fears that years of martial arts trauma may have contributed to his current condition.
Now sharing an update while sitting in a waiting room, the father-of-four said: ‘I’ve been in hospital since 9am this morning.
‘I’ve already had a CT scan, and I’m now waiting for an MRI to check if there’s a bleed on the posterior part of my brain.

‘I honestly can’t believe how l’ve been walking lately — so “punch drunk” that people keep assuming I’m drunk when I’m out. I’m not. This is just how my body moves these days, and it’s a horrible feeling not knowing why.
‘The pain, the imbalance, the uncertainty… it’s all become really hard to live with.’
Alex explained that he wasn’t being ‘negative’ towards martial arts but wants to raise awareness for younger athletes to ‘train smarter and wear headgear’.
He continued: ‘This isn’t a negative post about martial arts, fighting, or “don’t do combat sports.” I love this sport. It’s my life.
‘But after around 300 fights, years of martial arts training, and being hit more times than I can count – plus my cauliflower ears to prove it – I want young lads coming up in the sport to start training smarter. Wear your headgear. Look after yourselves. Think long-term, not just about the next fight.
‘Thank God the scans so far have shown no tumours’.
Alex’s father sadly passed away from a brain tumour at 77, which also had fuelled his worry but he admitted he wanted to share with fans to ‘raise awareness’.
He continued: ‘My dad passed away at 77 from a brain tumour, so hearing that today was a massive relief.

‘Now we’re just waiting to see if there’s any bleed or any signs of brain damage that might explain what’s been happening with my walking and balance.
‘This is me being honest, raising awareness, and letting people know what really goes on behind closed doors.
‘Combat sports are incredible – but your health is everything.
‘I’ll keep everyone posted when I get the results. Thank you to everyone who’s sent messages and support today.’
Martial arts can cause brain damage through repetitive head impacts, which can lead to conditions like chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), or ‘punch-drunk syndrome’.
This can result in symptoms such as memory loss, confusion, depression, poor impulse control and in advanced stages, dementia.
It comes after Alex leaked a video of bankrupt star Katie Price appearing to count wads of cash in August.
The former cage fighter told his Instagram followers he’s ‘exposing the truth’ about the glamour model, just days after Peter Andre accused her of ‘peddling baseless lies.’
Katie was declared bankrupt twice in 2019 and then again last year over a huge unpaid tax bill, but last year was discharged of both bankruptices.
The video, which is believed to have been filmed in 2020, shows the star saying she is ‘enjoying counting’ the wads of money in front of her during a conversation with her daughter Princess Andre.

There is no suggestion that Katie didn’t declare the cash. In the video she brags: ‘There’s loads here… I’m just sorting it out.’
A representative for Katie Price told Daily Mail: ‘This is a video that was shared with Katie’s Trustee in Bankruptcy several months ago and Katie has fully complied with the Trustee’s investigations into the same.
‘The cash featured did not belong to Katie and the property referred to was dealt with in the financial settlement proceedings arising out of Katie’s divorce from Peter Andre.
‘Katie’s Trustee in Bankruptcy is aware of the property and has undoubtedly investigated whether the same ought to be comprised in the bankruptcy estate.’
A source close to Peter also said: ‘Peter has seen the video and is totally disgusted, even more so because his young daughter has been involved in it.’
His representatives added: ‘Peter will be dealing with this with his lawyers.’
