Outrage as Female Fan Gropes Mario on Stage in New Video

New video showing R&B singer Mario getting groped by a female fan mid-performance has sparked outrage online.

In the clip, Mario could be seen singing on stage before a woman’s hand could be seen reaching up from the audience and rubbing his nether regions.

Mario, 39, momentarily stopped singing to address the woman, and appeared to be telling her something with a stern tone before quickly resuming his performance.

The Daily Mail has reached out to representatives for Mario for comment but has not immediately heard back.

The moment is said to have occurred at Mario’s November 22 show at the Masonic Jack White Theatre in Detroit, Michigan.

‘When a fan grabs your private area,’ the video read alongside an upset emoji.

The person who posted the video wrote on Instagram: ‘Only on Detroit… smh. What y’all think about this video? Do y’all think she should have consequences for touching him? Is it double standards? If it was a male touching a female, it wouldn’t be as forgiving? Is this considered SA? And y’all see her wedding ring… come on, what y’all think? Tiktok going crazy so I’d thought I’d post it here. Lmk.’

Online, fans expressed their outrage over what they had seen and categorized what the woman did as sexual assault.

‘Assault. Period. I’m pressing charges. If it were the other way around, the man would be in jail already,’ one person commented.

‘Definitely SA and out of pocket. Security should’ve pulled her,’ another said.

‘She should absolutely be charged with SA. Period. Boys will be boys is not acceptable and neither is this,’ another posted.

‘This is sexual assault. Not okay and women should be held accountable just as much as men would in such a situation!’ another commented.

Several also noticed the notable accessory on the fan’s ring finger: ‘had a whole ring on it tooo that’s wild,’ one wrote.

Mario does not appear to have addressed the incident however he did rave about his Detroit performance on Monday with video of him singing to the audience.
