Jerry O’Connell and John Stamos End Feud Over Rebecca Romijn

Jerry O’Connell and John Stamos have called a truce in their years-long feud over Rebecca Romijn.

O’Connell, 51, shared a photo of himself with his wife Rebecca’s, 53, ex-husband Stamos, 62, on Saturday at Howie Mandel’s 70th birthday party. They were joined by the Full House alum’s wife, Caitlin McHugh, 39.

The trio were pictured smiling, with O’Connell captioning the post, ‘Gorgeous fam and gorgeous people.’

He also joked about their feud, writing, ‘First @zohrankmamdani and @realdonaldtrump Then me and @johnstamos You are up @russian_kremlin & zelenskyy_official.’

Stamos — who previously said he once ‘hated’ his ex and thought she was ‘the Devil’ — and Romijn’s union lasted from 1998 to 2005, and she met O’Connell while they were still married, though he previously insisted that ‘no shenanigans happened’ at the time.

Stamos talked about his devastating divorce from Romijn in his 2023 memoir, ‘If You Would Have Told Me.’ Romijn said his recollections ‘blindsided’ her, and O’Connell slammed him for the comments he made about her. 

Stamos’ and O’Connell’s reunion was welcomed by their followers.

Birthday boy Howie commented under the post: ‘This is what I do. I bring people together. You’re welcome.’

Actress Tawny Newsome wrote: ‘Jerry. This caption.’

‘I literally gasped out loud. …also, you’re hilarious. Good for you all,’ one fan wrote.

‘Peace at last,’ someone else added.

While Stamos and Romijn’s split initially seemed amicable, tensions resurfaced years later.

The Femme Fatale star went on to marry O’Connell two years after the divorce, and the two remain happily together.

In his memoir, Stamos recalled felling ’emasculated’ by Romijn, whose career was taking off.

‘As I’m lifting Rebecca up, I’m losing myself,’ he wrote. ‘She makes it clear that I’m the TV guy and she’s the newly minted star… Somewhere deep inside, I start to believe it.’

‘We’re trying new things and growing, but not together,’ he wrote, stating that it felt ‘harder to make time for each other, slow down, disconnect from the chaos of the world, and make eye contact again.’

Romijn said she was ‘blindsided’ by what he wrote in his memoir.

‘I was very surprised by all of that, incredibly shocked actually,’ she told Entertainment Tonight last January.

‘I was sort of blindsided by it. But you know, I don’t really want to help him sell his books based on those headlines. So that’s all I really want to say about it,’ the actress added.

Meanwhile when O’Connell was asked about the memoir in 2023, he quipped, ‘People gotta make a living, I guess.’

Stamos previously shared that he once ‘hated’ the X-Men actress and was ‘shattered’ by their divorce.

‘My first marriage was shattering to me. I was shattered for way too long, too,’ he said in a 2023 interview with People.

‘I mean, a year, okay, good. But it went on [for] years and years.’

‘In my mind back then, she was the Devil, and I just hated her. I couldn’t believe how much I hated her, and it ruined my life,’ he added.

He explained that, ‘one of the steps in AA, the fourth step, is you lay out all your grievances, everything that people did to you. And then I said, “Oh, she did this, she did that, blah, blah, she did blah, blah.” And then my sponsor goes, “Now what part did you play in that?” And I go, like, “None.”‘  

However, upon reflection, he realized he wasn’t entirely without blame.

‘You start thinking, it’s like, “Oh, she wasn’t the Devil. Maybe I was as much to blame as her,”‘ he added. 

‘It was very public, and that was very painful. I didn’t write much about that, but it’s hard.’

Despite the backlash following his memoir, the Fuller House actor said that he doesn’t regret writing about Romijn.

‘And this saying came to me: anything less than the truth is paralysis… I know it sounds corny, but it sets you free,’ he told Us Weekly in 2024.

Romijn met her current husband O’Connell at the Maxim Hot 100 bash in 2004, and they got married in 2007.

‘I met my wife and her ex John Stamos at a party when they were married,’ O’Connell told People in 2017. 

‘I remember thinking, “Wow, this girl is really beautiful and funny.” I talked to her the whole party. We clicked. We clicked the first time we met. Obviously, she was married, and I know shenanigans go on, but no shenanigans happened. But we clicked. Day one, we clicked.’
