Kandi Burruss said that while many were surprised by her recent split from Todd Tucker after 11 years of marriage, she saw it coming for a while.
‘This is something that has been brewing for a while,’ the Real Housewives of Atlanta alum said less than a week after she filed for divorce from the producer, describing her emotional state as ‘all over the place’ amid the painful time.
The College Park, Georgia native, 49, appeared in a segment on Amazon Live Monday to promote her online store, The Kandi Shop.
The Grammy-winner got personal with livestream viewers as she admitted she was going through ‘a pretty crazy time’ as her marital split occurs as the holidays commence.
‘I’m gonna be very honest with you – I am up and down,’ Kandi said. ‘Obviously, going through a divorce is definitely not the easiest thing.’
The Bravo star said she often changed up her routine to distract from the divorce.

‘Sometimes you’re cool, you’re moving, you’re mixing, you’re moving, you’re hanging out with friends,’ Kandi said.
Kandi said that she allowed herself time to grieve the relationship, pointing to her astrological tendencies.
‘Sometimes you have your moments of sadness,’ Kandi said. ‘And me being the Taurus that I am, I like to keep those moments to myself.
‘When I was on Housewives, I really couldn’t keep moments to myself when I got upset, so y’all would catch me crying, but real life, my everyday life, I don’t really like for those moments to be shared with the world.’
Kandi, who’s also been seen on The Masked Singer, The Kandi Factory and Kandi’s Wedding, said she’s been putting on a brave face, all the while her marriage was disintegrating.
‘So all the times you’ve been seeing me online [looking happy] means nothing,’ Kandi said. ‘I’ve been going through it, child, I’ve been going through it – life has been life-ing me.’
The Xscape alum said that she’s irritated by people on social media who are ‘making their own narrative of what’s going on.’

Kandi is mother to two children with Tucker, 52: son Ace, nine, and daughter Blaze, six.
She said her children are ‘doing well’ among the difficult time, and that she and Tucker have been ‘keeping it very friendly’ for their sake.
Kandi confirmed her and Tucker will be ‘having Thanksgiving this week’ together so as to keep things normal for their children, noting they got along at a birthday bash for Blaze ‘to support our baby girl.
‘We are gonna continue to keep that same good energy going for our kids – that is our goal.’
