Former Try Guys Star Ned Fulmer, 38, Reveals MS Battle

Ned Fulmer revealed he has been quietly battling multiple sclerosis for more than a decade.

The former Try Guys star, 38, opened up about his condition in a deeply emotional YouTube video shared on Sunday, where he partnered with WalkMS to raise awareness for the chronic autoimmune disease, which affects the brain and spinal cord.

‘This is a cause that’s really important to me because I actually have MS,’ Fulmer told viewers. ‘I’ve been living with it since 2013. It’s relapsing remitting MS. And it’s been something that I have been afraid to talk about and wanted to keep a secret, but I’m trying to be more open about myself and hopefully my story can help other people.’

He went on to detail the frightening moment when his symptoms first surfaced, revealing that he woke up one morning in 2013 unable to walk.

‘One day I woke up and I couldn’t move my legs,’ he explained, recalling how he later collapsed in his bathroom in the middle of the night and was unable to pull himself up from the floor.

At the time, he was rushed to hospital where doctors quickly intervened and did a spinal tap.

‘They put steroids, like powerful IV steroids that reduced the inflammation in my brain and then put me through this strange device that like sucked all the blood out of my body,’ Fulmer shared.

He described undergoing plasma exchange, a treatment that strips antibodies from the blood believed to be attacking the nervous system.

‘With those two treatments, I started to get better. I started to regain strength. And at one point, amazingly, I realized I could move my legs again. It kind of felt like a miracle.’

Despite improvement, Fulmer admitted his MS still impacts his daily life.

‘Living with MS for me means numbness in my hands on a daily basis and living in fear of waking up one day and not being able to walk,’ he wrote in the video’s description.

He also revealed that temperature changes, stress and alcohol can worsen his symptoms, explaining that his hands and forearms remain permanently dulled, though he has learned to cope with it over time.

Encouraged by his progress and grateful to be in remission, Fulmer set himself an extraordinary physical challenge to raise awareness and funds – walking as far as he could without stopping.

In a raw and grueling 14-hour journey, he pushed himself through pain and exhaustion, ultimately completing an astonishing 26.2 miles, the distance of a full marathon, while filming the experience.

‘I remember sitting in that hospital bed and it getting worse and just being so scared, wondering if I was going to be able to walk again, or what was going to happen to me,’ he said through tears, recalling the initial diagnosis. ‘I was keeping it a really big secret for a long time and I don’t think that was very helpful for me.’

As he reached the 22-mile mark, Fulmer became visibly emotional before eventually collapsing to the ground in tears after passing 26 miles.

‘For anyone that thinks they can’t keep going, you can,’ he told viewers. ‘This video meant a lot to me.’

Throughout the challenge, he pledged to donate $1,000 to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society for every 10 miles walked, hoping his journey would inspire others facing similar battles.

He later expressed gratitude for modern disease-modifying therapies, which doctors say have transformed life expectancy and relapse frequency for MS patients.

‘On an effective disease modifying therapy, the rate of relapses is now one every five to 10 years – that is amazing progress,’ his medical advisor explained in the video.

Fulmer added that his MRIs have remained stable and credited treatment for keeping his condition under control, describing himself as ‘very grateful to be in remission.’
