Collingwood’s Steele Sidebottom Welcomes Third Child with Alisha and Reveals Name

Collingwood veteran Steele Sidebottom is officially a father of three, after his wife Alisha gave birth to a baby boy, Beau.

The couple announced the exciting news this weekend, sharing a series of sweet family photos showing the tiny newborn being cradled by his adoring older siblings, Matilda and Ned.

In the heartwarming images, the proud big sister and brother beamed as they cuddled the newest member of the family.

Alisha confirmed Beau’s arrival in a touching social media post, writing that their little boy was born on November 18, and the whole family is already besotted with him.

The arrival of baby Beau sees Sidebottom join teammates Jack Crisp and Tim Membrey in the three-kids club.

In a sweet coincidence, Membrey also has a daughter named Beau.

Steele and Alisha have steadily grown their family over recent years, welcoming daughter Matilda in September 2020 and son Ned in January 2024.

At the time, Alisha described Ned as the ‘most perfect addition’ to their lives.

The long-serving midfielder, 34, married Alisha in a picturesque ceremony in Daylesford in October 2022.

He recently recommitted to the Magpies, signing on to play into the 2026 season alongside fellow Collingwood stalwarts Jeremy Howe and Scott Pendlebury.

The Sidebottoms are now settling in as a family of five, with little Beau already proving to be a fan favourite among Collingwood supporters.

Sidebottom’s happy family news caps off a headline-making year for the Collingwood veteran, who stunned fans in March when he revealed an unusual party trick that only the truest of footy obsessives could master.

The AFL released a playful video showing the footballer effortlessly reeling off the exact brand of boots worn by 26 randomly selected players. 

Without pausing to think, he correctly identified every single pair.

Sidebottom explained that his quirky skill dates back to childhood, admitting he used to pore over players’ footwear with as much interest as the game itself.

‘As a kid I was obsessed with footy boots,’ he said in the clip. 

‘Whenever someone was playing I’d always look at what they had on their feet.’

While the revelation shocked viewers, it was old news inside the Collingwood locker room.

Former teammate Adam Treloar previously lifted the lid on Sidebottom’s photographic boot memory back in 2016, recalling how the midfielder could rattle off the brand and model worn by virtually every AFL player.

Treloar once put him to the test on the spot and was left floored. 

‘He didn’t miss any,’ he said at the time.
