Steph and Gian’s House 4 was the first of the five homes in East Hampton, 17kms from Melbourne’s CBD, to go to auction on Sunday’s grand finale of The Block.
With a reserve of $3.35 million the couple feared they would not make money on the sale.
The bidding quickly reached $4million thanks to serial bidder Danny Wallace, before jumping a million straight up to $5million.
The house was sold to Adrian Portelli, known as ‘Mr Lambo’, who said he wanted to prove he was a real bidder after controversy last season.
Portelli spent $1.58 million on Omar and Oz’s house last year, but smashed his record this season.
Steph and Gian’s win also broke last year’s record for Omar and Oz, which was $1,686,666.
Next on the block were sisters Eliza and Liberty with House 5 up for grabs with a $3.25million reserve.
The bidding reached $4.1million before it finally went under the hammer for $4.3 million, earning the siblings a profit of $1.050 million.

Kristy and Brett’s House 3 had a reserve of $2.97million and the couple said they were ‘not calm’ going into the auction.
It sold for just over $3million, the couple taking home just $65,000.
Kyle and Leslie’s House 1 was up next with a reserve of $2.97 million, finally selling for $3.1million after a sluggish auction.
Leah and Ash were last to auction, with their House 2 up with a $2.97 million, and was finally passed in after failing to sell.
