Robert Redford’s daughter revealed that her family has not yet held a public funeral for the actor, as she slammed fake AI posts claiming otherwise.
Amy Redford, 55, took to Instagram on Wednesday to shut down the fake claims and share memorial plans for the iconic Hollywood star, who died in September at the age of 89.Â
‘There have been multiple AI versions of funerals, tributes, and quotes from members of my family that are fabrications,’ she wrote.
‘Renderings of my Dad, who clearly has no say, and depictions of my family that do not represent anyone in a positive light are extra challenging during a difficult time. We are grieving together, and we are all in support of one another.’
She admitted that there ‘are many elements of it that were created with good intent’ but added, ‘I simply ask, what if this was you? Let that be your guidepost.’Â
Amy clarified that the family have not held a ‘public funeral’ yet and ‘are working out plans for a memorial in the future.’Â

‘There have been multiple AI versions of funerals, tributes, and quotes from members of my family that are fabrications,’ she wrote in an Instagram post on WednesdayÂ
She started the lengthy post writing, ‘I want to thank you for the overwhelming love and support that has come by way of emails, texts, DM’s, snail mail and sometimes drops on my doorstep since my dad’s passing.’
‘It’s clear that he meant so much to so many, and I know that my family is humbled by the outpouring of stories and tributes from all corners of the globe.’Â
‘I also want to share, as many of you know, I am still on the Social Media learning curve. It isn’t my instinct to post often, but when I do check in, I love seeing many of your stories, activities, and updates.’
She then criticized some fans for their AI videos.
After sharing the family’s plans for a memorial, she added, ‘Every family should have the ability to mourn, represent the person they lost and pay homage in the way that fits their values and family culture best.’
‘AI isn’t going anywhere. My hope is to keep AI in the land of transparent usage where it belongs.’
‘Let human authenticity live, inspire and be the connective tissue we all crave,’ she added.
