Amy Tapper, 26, to Have Surgery After 8st Weight Loss with Mounjaro

Amy Tapper, 26, to Have Surgery After 8st Weight Loss with Mounjaro

Amy Tapper has revealed she will go under the knife for skin surgery after being left with loose skin following her incredible eight-stone, thanks to weight loss medication Mounjaro.

The former Gogglebox star, 26, has dropped from a size 26 to a size 18 since taking the prominent drug as well as exercising.

Amy recently revealed doctors prescribed the jab just as she contemplated gastric bypass surgery.

Despite her success, her major weight loss has left her with loose skin – which Amy acknowledges she will need surgery to correct.

Speaking exclusively to the Daily Mail, she explained: ‘Unfortunately and inevitably, when you’ve lost as much weight as eight stone, and there’s gonna be more, there’s a lot of skin that is just not gonna disappear with exercise.

‘It’s not possible, you know? It’s stones and stones of fat and it’s now just skin.

Amy beams with her newfound confidence

The star has officially dropped eight stone

Despite her success, her major weight loss has left her with loose skin – something Amy acknowledges she will need surgery to correct

‘My arms and my tummy are definitely gonna need surgery at some point, but my legs are actually OK.’

She jokingly added: ‘These little side bad boys are really toning up.’

While the TV star – who shot to fame when she was just 13 – has been accused by trolls of ‘cheating’ with her weight loss because she uses the jab, she insists she has maintained a consistent workout routine.

It has also helped her try and tone some of the loose skin on her body.

Amy said: ‘I’ve been with the same personal trainer for five years.

‘I love going to the gym anyway, just mentally, it makes the biggest difference to my week, and hand-in-hand with Mounjaro.’

Amy has been taking a 15mg weekly dose since February, which she worked her way up to from 2.5mg.

At the peak of her weight loss Amt shed 5lbs within just one week of taking the drug and six months later she had lost 4st.

She continued: ‘I’m still eating less and moving more, but I’m doing it hand-in-hand with the weight loss medication and it’s working as the most perfect pair.’

Amy has partnered with online pharmacy Chemist4U to reclaim the phrase ‘eat less, move more’ after new research revealed 7 in 10 people on weight loss medication feel judged for using the treatments.

DJ Fat Tony has recorded a new house track for the campaign – fittingly called Already Doing It’ and appears with Amy in the music video.

Amy has been sharing her weight loss progress online with fans who branded her an ‘inspiration’ – though she has faced trolling as a result.

Sadly, the scrutiny has caused considerable damage to Amy’s mental health.

During an appearance on Good Morning Britain this week, she emotionally said: ‘I do think of myself as strong minded and whatever they say to me I can say a lot worse about myself.

‘But of course it affects you. No one is super human and I can be strong and confident, but when I’ve put all this work in, I do just kind of have to laugh about it.’

‘The online trolls come in and it sort of affects your peacefulness in your head. This eat less move more, it’s put there as some sort of an insult,’ she added.

‘But if you’re doing that with the weight loss medication side by side, it’s the most perfect pair so I don’t know why it’s bothering anyone.’

She urged others not to place too much power in the opinion of others.

‘I think you’re doomed if you do and doomed if you don’t so why not just do it?’ she concluded.

Chemist4U has launched a major anti-bullying campaign – backed by the National Bullying Helpline – with DJ Fat Tony and Gogglebox star, Amy Tapper, reclaiming the phrase ‘eat less, move more’.
