80’s Rocker Dale Bozzio, 70, in ‘Constant Pain’ as Son Seeks Fundraiser for Implant Removal

Iconic singer Dale Bozzio’s son is raising funds for his mother’s breast implant removal, revealing she is in ‘constant pain.’

Troy McKenzie, 33, launched a GoFundMe for the Missing Persons vocalist, 70, stating she needs surgery ‘as soon as possible’ to take out her silicone breast implants.

McKenzie revealed that the 80s rocker is suffering from severe capsular contracture, a complication where scar tissue around a breast implant hardens and tightens, causing pain and distortion of the breast.

‘It has left her in constant pain, and it is very difficult for her to perform, record, or earn a living,’ he wrote.

McKenzie added that after removal, Bozzio will need ‘reconstructive surgery and extensive recovery.’

The campaign aims to raise $35,000 and has already collected nearly $18,000.

Bozzio’s son began his post writing, ‘Dale Bozzio, lead singer of the 80’s new wave band Missing Persons, is a lot of things to the world: singer, songwriter, rock star, fashion icon. To me, she is just my dear mother.’

He went on to share: ‘She’s an amazing person, so kind and compassionate. We have the same birthday.’

‘I’ve always had a special connection with her. So it saddens me deeply to see what she’s going through.’

‘The goal is to raise $35,000 for the surgery and post-op recovery, which could take up to 3 months. It is not covered by insurance.’

He added that ‘every dollar donated goes directly to Dale’s medical treatments and healing so that we can get her well and back out there rocking for you.’

According to American Society of Plastic Surgeons, one in six breast augmentation patients experience some degree of capsular contracture.

Bozzio shares her son with ex Richard McKenzie.

Bozzio previously suffered a major health scare in 1976, when she fell 40 feet from a Los Angeles hotel window after an intruder broke into her room and threatened to kill her.
