Keith Urban cut a very surprising figure when he stepped on stage at the CMA Awards in Nashville this week.
The event marked Keith’s first TV performance since it emerged in September that he had split from Nicole Kidman after 19 years of marriage.
Stepping onstage to present the award for Entertainer of the Year, the 58-year-old showed off a unique sense of style.
The country rocker wore a sparkling, sheer black collared shirt that he had unbuttoned at the chest.Â
The eye-catching garment, which Keith wore with the sleeves rolled up, gave the audience a glimpse of his tattooed torso.
He paired the striking shirt with distressed black jeans, slightly frayed at the hem, and completed the look with black sneakers.

Keith’s attire is in stark contrast to ex Nicole Kidman, who has been sartorially on point since the split
The glitz of his shirt did seem appropriate for such an event, and Keith looked genuinely chuffed to present the award to Lainey Wilson, who also hosted the event.
Keith also hit the stage to perform alongside Lainey as part of her opening medley of hit country songs.
The final number in her intro was Keith’s 1999 single Where the Blacktop Ends – and the man himself showed up with his guitar to sing it with her.Â
He cut quite the youthful figure for the performance, hitting the stage in a black T-shirt emblazoned with a colourful graffiti-style pattern.
He completed the rocker look with the same distressed black jeans and a Paul Reed Smith guitar slung over his shoulder.
Keith’s attire is in stark contrast to his ex, Nicole Kidman, 58, who has been sartorially on point since the split.
Last month, just a week after news of the split emerged, Nicole looked absolutely stunning, albeit casual, as she stepped out for Paris Fashion Week.
Attending the Chanel Womenswear Spring/Summer 2026, Nicole flaunted her ageless beauty in a crisp white Chanel collared shirt that she matched with a pair of loose-fitting light blue pants.

She also debuted a new fringe for the star-studded event and looked as flawless as ever with dewy makeup.Â
Sharing images of her new ‘glow up’ on Instagram, Nicole was inundated with comments swooning over the new look while throwing some not-so-subtle shade at Keith.
‘The glow up is real,’ said another while one more chimed in, ‘Keith who? Keep slaying queen!’Â
Someone else said, ‘First she served the divorce papers and then she served face.’
‘Fantastic! I’m excited for your next chapter,’ another fan said, with one more commenting, ‘Keith who? You are amazing!’
‘Imagine fumbling Nicole Kidman. Embarrassing,’ someone else wrote, with another saying, ‘This era is beautiful on you’.
Also in October, Nicole showed Keith what he was missing when she opened the Vogue World: Hollywood runway show.

The sleeveless dress was adorned with black camellias, and was inspired by a gown Hollywood legend Rita Hayworth wore in Gilda (1946).
The Oscar winner also danced along to ‘Put the Blame on Mame’, the song Hayworth performed in the film.
Nicole’s runway appearance was directed by Baz Luhrmann, who previously helmed her 2001 hit film, Moulin Rouge.
Meanwhile, Keith recently took a walk down memory lane with Black Shelton on his podcast The Road, laughing at some of his memorable looks over the years.
Blake pulled up a hilarious throwback photo of a much younger Urban with long blond hair, prompting the singer to joke: ‘Well, that’s what I looked like when I first got here.
‘I couldn’t for the life of me figure out why I couldn’t get signed… didn’t know what the hell was going on with my hair.’
