Katie Price has revealed she is on hormone replacement therapy to treat menopause symptoms, after her recent dramatic weight loss.
The former glamour model, 47, spoke to her sister Sophie on her podcast about ‘getting old’ and the fact that she had started medicating with HRT – in a pill and gel format – for the symptoms.
She said: ‘I’m getting old. So I take two tablets every evening for 14 days and I rub gel into my thigh every day. Make me nice. I don’t know. It will help with the brain fog. It’s just the doc told me to go on it.’
The star revealed her mum Amy and step-father Paul were overjoyed with her decision to take the plunge and start taking the medication.
Last month, Katie confessed that she had been hospitalised for her weight loss – which she initially conceded was her aim – however later insisted was baffling doctors and left her needing tests to assess the situation.

Katie told fans on her Snapchat Story that she ‘doesn’t know why’ her frame is shrinking so much as she undergoes tests.
She began: ‘I’ve been up early at the doctors so she could do some bloods and because my veins are so s*** they had three attempts.
‘They could only fill two tubes up, so I’ve got to go back in two weeks. And I’ve got to have my stitches out then because they looked at my little stab wound that I did…
‘The reason I’m going to the doctors is because I keep losing weight and I don’t know why. So that’s that.’
She detailed her mum Amy’s happiness at her decision to use HRT, saying: ‘She’s so happy, I rang her I’m like, I’m starting the HRT tonight I picked it up. And then Paul saying, ohh you’ll be a different person. I was like, does it really change you?’
She previously spoke about her menopause fears, saying: ‘In an honest chat, Katie admitted she often gets ‘brain fog’ as well as the night sweats.
Opening up, she said: ‘I’m getting the brain fog going through the pre-menostal [menopause] or whatever it’s called, and I wake up and my bed is soaking wet. I hate it.’
And speaking to her sister Sophie on her podcast in February, she explained: ‘I’m not sleeping at night and I’m normally a really good sleeper, so something’s going on’

‘So I’m just going to get my blood test because maybe I’m having an early menopause, I don’t know how it all works, but I’m still having my periods.’
Speaking on The Louis Theroux Podcast last year, Katie explained that she has never been happy with her body.
She said: ‘I always said I haven’t got body dysmorphia but there’s definitely something, I don’t know what it is… I’ve never looked in the mirror and thought I’m pretty or whatever.’
