Gogglebox star Amy Tapper has defended her decision to use weight loss jabs after her incredible 7st weight loss.

The TV personality, 25, revealed that she’d turned to the medication in June last year after feeling like there was ‘nothing else she could do’.

However she was met with backlash with some fans calling her a liar and accusing her of ‘cheating fans’.

And now Amy has hit back as she explained: ‘I know what I’m doing works and is right for me and that’s all that matters. All these people who say “eat less, move more”. It’s what I’ve been doing for 20 years, but that alone didn’t work for me.’

Speaking to The Mirror she added: ‘People have problems when you aren’t losing weight and problems when you do, however you are doing it shouldn’t matter.’

Amy explained she was close to having bariatric surgery, but then her doctor recommended weight-loss medication instead.

The star lost 5lbs in just one week of taking Mounjaro and six months later she had lost 4st.

She added: ‘It feels amazing to have lost so much weight, it feels like a whole new life and to date I’ve lost almost eight stone.’

Amy has dropped from a size 26 to a size 18 and revealed for the first time she can buy clothes in a normal shop and doesn’t need to worry about ‘squishing’ the person next to her at the theatre.

She also shared that her recent holiday marked the first time she didn’t need to ask for a seat belt extension or to book an aisle seat.

Last month Amy showed off her incredible 7st weight loss in a slew of new holiday photos after previously revealed she had dropped three dress sizes in a year as she shared a comparison snap.

Amy is continuing to display her results and looked nothing short of incredible in a stylish blue denim dress while posing up a storm on her hotel balcony.

She radiated confidence in the summery ensemble, which featured a scoop neckline, a corseted bodice, and a pleated skirt.

The TV personality captioned the new photos: ‘Another day another slay (dancing emojis).’

Amy previously revealed she had turned to weight loss jabs after she ‘felt there was nothing else I could do’ when she started using them in June 2024.

She told The Sun: ‘I’m fitting into size 18 clothes for the first time since I was 15 or 16 – it’s hard for me to believe.

‘It’s changed my life. I get annoyed, though, that some people call it the “lazy way out”.

‘I don’t want people to think that I’ve sat around for the last 17 years of my life not trying to lose weight. I want people to know that this has been my only option to get this far.’

Amy has been taking a 15mg weekly dose since February, which she worked her way up to from 2.5mg.
