Tom Hanks made his love for the New York City subway official with a song which he belted out at an event this week.
The 69-year-old Oscar winner – whose new off-Broadway play has garnered mixed reviews from critics – serenaded guests as he took to the stage at The Shed, a cultural center located in Manhattan.
It comes just one month after the Forrest Gump actor – whose reported net worth is estimated around $400 million – drove fans wild with his incognito appearance as he took the subway.
‘I can’t tell you how great it is to be at The Shed every day,’ he expressed at the center on Tuesday, where his play This World Of Tomorrow is currently running.
‘Why? Because it is officially the last stop on the 7 train,’ Hanks continued, per Page Six.
The star was then prompted to break out into lyrics dedicated to the NYC subway and excitedly sang, ‘The Shed is in the Hudson Yards on the Lower West Side off the High Line.

‘Yeah, The Shed on the Lower West Side off the High Line in Hudson Yards,’ Hanks continued, before director Kenny Leon also joined in on the upbeat tune.
During the short spontaneous performance, the Hollywood actor also snapped his fingers to add a beat to the song.
Last month in October, Hanks was seen dressing down in a lowkey ensemble as he rode one of the trains in the Big Apple – leaving some New Yorkers utterly surprised.
The star could be seen wearing a plain black shirt and black trousers while layering a khaki jacket on top.
He added a green Yankees cap on top of his head and also wore a protective face mask. Hanks carried a backpack over his shoulders while heading to his next destination.
The award-winning actor soon went viral for his appearance on the NYC subway, with some riders also recognizing the star at the time.
Just weeks later, Hanks was seen on the green 6 line in the city while also continuing to go incognito.
Along with the same face mask, the star donned a dark green cardigan as well as a light green jacket on top.

Hanks discussed taking the NYC subway during an appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert earlier this month.
When it comes to his incognito look, the actor explained, ‘It pretty much works all the time.’
He further added, ‘I cannot – I am doing a play right now, so I cannot get sick. So, I’m not just trying to hide my profile. I have had Covid enough in my life, I don’t need to do that again.
‘So, I am wearing this for health reasons,’ Hanks added, referencing to the face mask. ‘And you know, the rest of it is in order to be anonymous.’
The star then humorously shared, ‘But obviously it doesn’t work. So, I might have to change my look. Otherwise I can’t get on the 1, the 2 or the C train.’

The play is being performed at The Shed – with opening night taking place earlier this week on Tuesday. The final performance is slated for next month on December 21.
Hanks plays the character of Bert – a scientist and businessman – who time travels to the past and finds himself at the 1939 New York World’s Fair in Queens.
While talking to Colbert during his recent appearance on the late night talk show, the star admitted to sometimes forgetting his own lines.
‘I disappeared the other night, as a matter of fact,’ he revealed to the host, before adding that his co-stars ‘all just kind of look at me and go, “Come on, man. I learned my lines, haven’t you learned yours?”‘
When questioned if the project was different since he co-wrote the play, the star replied, ‘Yes it is. Number one because, they are gonna have a real hard time firing me if I screw up.’
Hanks also explained, ‘The huge difference between film and stage is, in film the director is the governor of the story. He can change it, not say it, don’t say that, say this instead.
‘The stage, if it’s not on the page, it ain’t on the stage. The writers are the definitive arbiters of what is being said.’
