Melanie Chisholm delighted Spice Girls fans on Wednesday as she revealed the band are considering a reunion for their thirtieth anniversary next year.
The singer, 51, appeared on Good Morning America on Wednesday to promote her ninth album Sweat, when she was grilled if the Spice Girls would come back together.
Crossing her fingers, Mel said: ‘I remain optimistic. It’s our thirtieth anniversary next year.
‘We toured in 2019, we did a few stadium shows in the UK and it was incredible.
‘We’re just so proud of the legacy that we have and we have fans now from new generations are just loving the Spice Girls so I would like to get back on stage with the girls.
‘We’re talking and we’re seeing what opportunities are out there. The thing that stops us is we feel so precious about it, we want to make sure it’s the right thing and agree on the right thing.’

For her TV appearance Mel looked effortlessly stylish in a blue button up shirt and jeans.
The songstress teamed the look with a brown coat and and appeared in high spirits as she left the studios.
Mel’s hopes for a Spice Girls reunion comes after Victoria Beckham fans begged her to release an acoustic duet of Viva Forever with her 20-year-old Cruz.
Posh Spice, 51, showed she’s still got it as she showed off her impressive vocals in while singing along with Cruz, who played the guitar.
Flooding the comments section, fans wrote: ‘This is so beautiful. Acoustic Christmas No.1 right there’;

Victoria hasn’t sung with the Spice Girls since 2012 when the group performed at the Summer Olympic Games.

Victoria performed an acoustic duet of Viva Forever with 20-year-old Cruz, who sat opposite her and played the guitar
She skipped their reunion tour in 2019, though the Daily Mail previously revealed how she still enjoys royalties from their chart-topping records.
Last month Victoria was supported by her bandmates Geri Halliwell-Horner, Melanie C and Emma Bunton when her Netflix documentary was released.
Meanwhile all five bandmates attended Victoria’s 50th birthday last year as they celebrated the milestone birthday together.
During the lavish festivities, all five of the Spice Girls came together to sing one of their hit tracks, Stop, for the star-studded guests – which was all caught on camera by David Beckham.
