Austin Butler’s love life has made headline news for years.
The Elvis actor dated Vanessa Hudgens then moved on to Kaia Gerber before being linked to Olivia DeJonge and Lily-Rose Depp.
And then there was that cozy dinner date with supermodel Emily Ratajkowski in a booth at the Waverly Inn in the West Village in New York City in September. An eyewitness told Page Six at the time that he had his arm ‘around her’ and ‘kept nodding at what she said.’
They were also spotted together in August at the afterparty for the NYC premiere of his movie Caught Stealing.Â
Now the 34-year-old Hollywood star has broken his silence about his relationship with Vogue model Ratajkowski.
‘The true answer is that I have a lot of friends, and we’re friends and we had dinner, and that we’re friends,’ the actor told the Vanity Fair Men’s Issue – on newsstands December 2 – on Tuesday.

Butler also added that he is single at the moment.
The artist made it clear during his interview that he is tired of the public’s interest in his personal life as he longs for a more simpler time in Hollywood when the fans did not pry as much.
And he expressed that his loyalty to his craft could cloud his future. ‘I used to think that in order to be a great artist, I had to destroy the rest of my life,’ he offered. ‘So much of it is this fear that my own experience, my own emotions, my own soul isn’t enough.’
And he is cooling his jets. ‘How can my own experience of being a human being somehow connect to other human beings?’Â
He wonders why he was so selfish at times in the past: ‘You get one life, so how can I allow that to hopefully make me a better friend and a better partner—and a better husband, one day, and a better father, one day, God willing?’
Butler said there have been times when he ‘just wanted to hide.’Â
And he wonders if hiding is the best solution: ‘I’m going to live a constricted, small life because I’m afraid of what other people are going to say or what they’re going to think?’ he asked rhetorically.
Ratajkowski has since been seen with musician Shaboozey.
The DKNY model used to married to film producer Sebastian Bear-McClard with whom she has a four year old son named Sylvester.
