Vicky Pattison Apologizes to Fans for Missing Strictly Spin-off After Elimination

Vicky Pattison has issued an apology to Strictly fans after she missed her appearance on spin-off show It Takes Two on Monday night following her elimination.

The presenter, 38, was the latest celebrity to be voted out of the ballroom on Sunday night after facing the dreaded dance off with Balvinder Sopal.

Usually the eliminated couple will appear on It Takes Two the following day to digest their exit, however, Vicky was noticeably absent from the show with her pro partner Kai Widdrington.

She has now taken to social media to apologise to Strictly viewers who had tuned in to see her on the show as she revealed bosses allowed her to miss the programme for her birthday.

Sharing a birthday snap on her Instagram stories, Vicky penned: ‘A gorgeous evening celebrating with my friends and family!

‘Sorry if anyone was expecting me to see me on It Takes Two tonight! My lovely Strictly family gave me the night off to enjoy my birthday!’

She added: ‘Me and @kaiwidd will be on on Wednesday and I can’t wait!!!’

Vicky’s husband Ercan Ramadan could be seen gazing at her in the snap as she beamed while blowing out her candles.

She also posted a gushing tribute to Kai, 30, as she said she will ‘miss my beautiful Strictly family so much’.

Vicky penned: ‘I have had an incredible couple of months and I’m so Grateful to everyone at @bbcstrictly for the most amazing experience!!! I am going to miss my beautiful strictly family so much.. and I can’t wait to watch them all smash it this weekend in Blackpool!!! I love you all!!

‘I’m struggling to put into words how much this process has meant to me… it has been one of the best things I’ve ever done in my life and I don’t think I’ll ever top it! To my @kaiwidd I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart- the absolute BEST partner a girl could ask for.. and even more than that, a friend.’

She concluded: ‘Final Thank you to you guys, for your support and kindness.. I am so grateful to you all! You made a little girls dreams come true and I loved my time spent on that dance floor!’

Fleur East, who was hosting It Takes Two on Monday, said to viewers of Vicky’s absence: ‘This weekend we sadly said goodbye to Vicky and Kai. They can’t be with us tonight but will be joining us later on in the week.’

Before Vicky’s elimination on Sunday night, which was branded the ‘most shocking yet’, the results were leaked online.

After both bottom couples performed again, judges Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas and Anton Du Beke all chose to save Balvinder, while Craig Revel Horwood, who this week had the casting vote, said he too would have saved the soap star should he have been required to vote.

Despite both pairs landing at the bottom of Saturday’s leaderboard fans were shocked by who the judges decided to save.

An emotional Vicky told host Tess Daly: ‘It was so lovely while it lasted, and I’ve had the nicest time. I knew this week was a difficult one for me, and I tried my hardest as I have every week, listen, I didn’t think I’d get past week one’.

‘And I’m really honoured to have shared this experience with so many amazing people. Mostly with this fella [Kai] right here. I don’t want to sound too cheesy but [to Kai] you’ve been the best partner a girl can ask for. I’m so sorry I didn’t get you to Blackpool but I feel like I’ve won just by having you as my partner and I’m so grateful’.

While Kai said: ‘[Vicky] You are everything that this series is about. Strong, confident, independent – and all that I can say is, I have loved every single second’.

‘I’m going to be gutted not coming to Blackpool with you on Monday. But I just want you to know that I feel like I have also won getting you as my partner, and you will live on in Strictly history forever.’
