Angry Ginge’s Mom Shares Heartbreaking Final Call Before I’m A Celebrity

Angry Ginge’s emotional mother has shared their heartbreaking final phone call together before he entered the I’m A Celebrity jungle.

The millionaire YouTube star, 25, is one of this year’s stars to take part in the ITV reality show, which kicks off on Sunday night.

After touching down in Australia earlier this week and placed in lockdown by bosses, Angry Ginge – whose real name is Morgan Burtwistle – was allowed one phone call for his birthday and rang his mum Michelle.

She has now revealed their heartbreaking conversation as she admitted her ‘throat just went’ as they said goodbye to each other.

Michelle explained: ‘Morgan managed to ring me via the producer’s phone because he was allowed a quick phone call for his birthday, and he sounded absolutely buzzing.

‘He told me he’s been watching SAS to get himself mentally ready for the jungle, which is so him.’

She continued to The Mirror: ‘I told him that if I’d actually seen him in person, I think I would’ve cried, although I did well up when I said goodbye on the phone.

‘I told him “I love you” and he said “love you too” and honestly, my throat just went.

‘It was one of those proper lump-in-the-throat moments.’

Michelle will fly to Brisbane later this month to support Angry Ginge and will be there to great him at the end of the bridge when he eventually leaves camp.

Meanwhile, speaking exclusively to the Daily Mail earlier this week, the social media star admitted he’s ‘feeling the pressure’ to be entertaining for ITV viewers.

He said: ‘I saw comments, even on the plane here saying, “Ginge and Aitch are going to…” It adds a little bit of pressure because you want to entertain anyway.

‘No matter what goes on in that camp, I want to make it good TV for the people watching. So there’s a little bit of pressure.

‘I think the main one I’m nervous about is meeting the rest of the cast just because I’ve never classed myself as a celebrity.

‘So going up and meeting other people that actually are celebrities, that’s quite nerve-wracking in itself. Because obviously growing up seeing them on TV and stuff like that.

‘I’ve got a feeling I might get a little bit of imposter syndrome.’

But the Salford-born internet star, who is friends with the darts champion Luke Littler, admitted he’d got advice from last year’s runner up, Coleen Rooney, on how to be successful in the Jungle.

Morgan, an avid Manchester United fan, is friends with her husband and the former England football captain, Wayne, who was also rumoured to be going on to this series.

He said: ‘Wayne was buzzing when I told him I was up for it. He said he can’t wait and he’ll be voting for me to do trials as well. So at least I know I’ve got the backing of them to make me do trials.

‘I’ve had some advice from Coleen as well, so that was good. Some tips and tricks while we’re in there.’

The WAG, 39, who placed second after McFly’s Danny Jones, told the social media star to reduce his caffeine intake a month before and to empty his water bottle out at trials so production refill it as the water in camp is ‘smokey’.
