David Harbour’s ex-girlfriend, actress Alison Sudol, has revealed the devastating emotional collapse she suffered in the aftermath of their split.
Her admission comes as the Hollywood actor’s ex-wife Lily Allen continues to lay bare the wreckage of her marriage to the Stranger Things star in her blisteringly honest new album.
Alison, 40, best known for her role as Queenie in the Fantastic Beasts film franchise, revealed on Friday that she was left ‘confused, adrift and mentally unravelled’ during the final months of her relationship with David, 50.
The actress took to Instagram to share a photo of herself lying on a bed as she described the emotional tailspin she experienced while living in New York in early 2019 – the final days of her romance with the actor.Â
‘I took this picture in early June of 2019,’ she wrote. ‘I was living in New York, in a fancy apartment with big windows that looked at another building.
‘I had chosen almost every item in it but it didn’t feel like home. I was a kind of sad that drifted in and out of focus.’
Alison dated the actor for a year, shortly before the US actor confirmed his romance with pop star Lily, 40.

Supportive Lily took to the comments with a love heart emoji
She added: ‘It was the tail end of a relationship but I didn’t know it yet. I think I knew that something was wrong, suspected I wasn’t ok, but I was so confused, tangled up in a narrative that wasn’t mine but was so loud I couldn’t hear beyond it.
‘I couldn’t get my thoughts straight. It was abundantly clear I couldn’t change things, so I kept trying to change me.’
Alison also revealed she spent ‘the last 6 years being very careful’ about who she keeps around her, rebuilding her sense of self after what she depicts as an emotionally scarring period.
She added: ‘I’ve had children now. I’m not the person I was, I can’t lie down even when I want to. Lying down keeps me up at night, every parent knows that anything that messes with your precious sleep is not worth it.’
The post prompted an outpouring of support – most notable from Lily, who commented on the post with a red heart emoji.

The new album West End Girl, is a no-holds-barred look at the dissolution of her marriage, in which she recounts learning her husband was having an affair with a woman she has named Madeline.Â
During a recent interview, Lily insisted that she didn’t want to seek ‘revenge’ on her ex-partner and didn’t feel like she was being ‘mean’ by divulging their private lives.Â
However, her lyrics – which she has confessed is a blend of fact and fiction – questions if her ex is a sex addict and recounts finding a plethora of sex toys and condoms at his other apartment, which she dubs ‘Pussy Palace’.
She also recounts confronting David’s mistress because she ‘can’t trust anything that comes out of his mouth’.
West End Girl has been critically acclaimed and quickly became the UK’s most-downloaded album of the week, landing at Number 1 on the Official Albums Downloads Chart.Â
