Sydney Sweeney Stuns in Goth Gown at GQ Men of the Year After Christy Flop

Sydney Sweeney had all eyes on her as she arrived at the 2025 GQ Men Of The Year party at Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles on Thursday.

The Euphoria star, 28, turned up the heat in a low-cut satin black goth gown that highlighted her ample cleavage.

The blonde bombshell accessorized her dark-glam aesthetic with a black choker and smokey eyeshadow, drawing attention to her striking blue eyes.

Her light blonde tresses were parted on the side and styled into stylishly messy waves.

The actress made her red carpet return following the disappointing box office performance of her latest film Christy.

The flop came following the backlash against her American Eagle jeans advert which some deemed racist due to a pun linking ‘jeans’ and ‘genes’.

Over the weekend Sweeney’s new film, which ranked in the top 12 worst ever for movies showing on more than 2000 screens, grossed a meager $1.3million after being released in 2,011 theaters – averaging $649 per venue, according to The Wrap.

The film sees Sweeney playing Hall of Fame boxer Christy Martin, a role that’s a total departure from her sexy blonde bombshell image.

In response to her critics, Sweeney wrote on Instagram on Monday: ‘I am so deeply proud of this movie. proud of the film david made. proud of the story we told.’

‘Proud to represent someone as strong and resilient as Christy Martin. this experience has been one of the greatest honors of my life.’

Sweeney faced a storm of controversy this year after it emerged that she is a registered Republican and starred in a divisive American Eagle jeans campaign.

Both moves seemed to clash with the prevailing views of woke Hollywood.
