Carys Douglas, 22, Awes in Strapless Gown at Party Without Parents

Carys Douglas was the image of her gorgeous mother, Catherine Zeta-Jones, as she attended the Museum of Modern Arts (MoMA) 16th Annual Film Benefit in New York City on Wednesday night.

The 22-year-old stunner – who graduated from Brown University in May – turned heads in a strapless white gown that clung to her curves while her long dark brown hair fell softly around her shoulders.

At another point during her red carpet walk, Douglas was wearing a black blazer, no doubt to protect her from the chill of the evening as temperatures hovered in the upper 40s F.

Her famous parents, Michael Douglas and Catherine, were not at the event, but many observers couldn’t help but see the comparison between the rising starlet and the Wednesday star.  

‘She looks like she was carved out of moonlight and kindness,’ a fan commented on Instagram.

Another wrote, ‘She is pretty seriously, but her mum was stunning.’ 

‘She’s both of her parents and natural looking too, pretty girl,’ a third opined.

The benefit served to honor Sofia Coppola for her ‘contributions as director, screenwriter, producer, and cultural tastemaker,’ according to MoMA.

Douglas – who studied filmmaking, and international and public affairs at Brown – is already gaining a reputation for her knockout looks and fashion flair. She is also a model, having appeared in campaigns for Burberry and Chanel.

On October 28, Douglas wowed in a vintage gown from her mom’s own closet at the PAC NYC Icons of Culture Gala. At that event, she was accompanied by her silver fox dad, 81.

Over the summer, the younger Douglas enjoyed a well-deserved break in England, dividing her time between London and Wales, where her mom hails from.

Douglas was born and primarily raised in the U.S., but she and her brother, Dylan Douglas, 25, spent many summers visiting their grandparents in Catherine’s native Mumbles, Swansea.

Douglas described the ‘weird and magical places’ around the Gower Peninsula. 

‘The Gower Peninsula is breathtaking,’ the brunette beauty told Vogue Travel. 

‘Langland and Caswell beaches are electric in summer and covered with picturesque houses. For dramatic landscapes, Worm’s Head is so romantic – but watch the tides – and Three Cliffs Bay is also stunning,’ Douglas added.

Meanwhile, Douglas’ lookalike moment at the MoMA event comes after her mother credited Steven Spielberg for changing the course of her life in a September interview.

The 55-year-old actress admitted that the legendary filmmaker has played an instrumental role in her career, casting her in the 1998 Western movie The Mask of Zorro, which Spielberg executive produced.

During an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, Zeta-Jones explained: ‘I remember being in the TV series of Titanic, which is not the Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet one, but it was okay. I needed the job.

‘And, Steven Spielberg happened to be watching TV on a Sunday night and went, “Oh, who’s she? Maybe she should be good in Zorro.” I get a call the next week [to] go and meet the director Martin Campbell.’

Zeta-Jones – who celebrates 25 years of marriage with the Romancing The Stone star on November 18 – explained that she was ‘on a plane to Mexico’ within a few days.

The actress continued: ‘Next few days, I was screen testing with the gorgeous Antonio Banderas and my old home country icon Anthony Hopkins, who directed me in a play when I was 18 years old.

‘And there I was and I thought to myself, “If this ends right now, this has just been a dream come true.” And then I got the job and it changed my life.’

Barrymore – who starred in Spielberg’s 1982 film, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial – was in awe.

The talk show host then said: ‘So are we saying that Steven Spielberg changed both of our lives? Okay, thank God for Steven Spielberg.’
