Angus Cloud’s mother Lisa is suing a law firm over ‘false’ claims against her late son’s estate two years after his shock death from an accidental overdose.
The actor passed away at the age of 25 after he was found unresponsive inside his family home in Oakland, California in July 2023 – with his death ruled an accidental overdose of cocaine, meth and fentanyl.
His mom filed a new lawsuit last month on October 31 over allegations she claims are not true made by the late star’s former assistant, Jonathan Kim, and his attorneys based in Sacramento, per court documents obtained by People.
The mother alleges that she has suffered elder abuse as well as emotional distress from attorney Michael Hackard and his associate Brian Geremia from their law firm Hackard Law over ‘false and frivolous claims’ against her son’s estate.
The attorneys represented an individual named Jonathan Kim who claims to have been Angus’ former ‘personal assistant’ and alleged the late actor had owed him $310,000 in unpaid wages and commission.
However in the civil complaint, Lisa has claimed that the allegations are ‘entirely fabricated’ while stating that there is not enough evidence to support Kim’s claims.

Lisa stated that there were no employment or tax documents that support Kim’s claims and that her son had other assistants on payroll at the same time frame.
She has also accused Kim and his attorneys of fraud, malicious prosecution and also claimed to have feared for her own life amid the legal battle.
Lisa additionally alleged that she has paid ‘approximately $64,000 in legal fees’ to fight the claims against Angus’ estate – which had amounted to $50,000 following his death.
She claimed to have sent a private letter to the attorneys but accused them of ‘breached confidentiality’ when they shared the letter.
Angus’ mother alleged that it resulted in Kim sending her threats that he would have her put in prison.
Due to the content of the messages, Lisa began to ‘fear for her physical safety,’ per the civil complaint.
Lisa claimed to have also reached out to the attorneys before filing the new lawsuit and further alleged that she showed proof Kim was no longer in Angus’ life after a ‘public altercation.’
She told People in a statement that the lawsuit ‘is about accountability and fairness.’

Lisa added, ‘My goal has always been to protect my son’s legacy and the integrity of his estate from wrongful legal actions that caused unnecessary harm and distress.
‘I have a great respect for the court system and for the many honest attorneys who work with compassion and integrity.’
However, she doesn’t believe that any ‘family should have to endure this kind of abuse of process after losing a loved one. I’m seeking resolution and dignity, truth and respect.’
Lisa previously claimed in a letter to a judge earlier this year that Kim told her he had been pressured by his attorneys to claim he was owed $195,000 in commissions from Angus’ estate.
‘[Attorney Brian] Geremia and his partners agreed to represent Mr Kim who had no evidence to support he was employed by decedent and no investigation as to whether his claim was supported by law and evidence,’ she alleged at the time, per People.
‘He also submitted false evidence to show this client was entitled to commissions of $195,000 by verbal agreement.’
Lisa had also claimed in the letter, ‘It’s important to note that seven months after this claim was filed, creditor/plaintiff sent me a text stating that his attorneys were responsible for claiming $195,000 in commissions…
‘And that he was forced to approve submission because his attorneys allegedly told him they would not represent him unless the amount was “worth their while.”‘

A few months after her son’s passing, Lisa reflected on her son’s death and how she had found him inside his childhood bedroom.
He had been slumped over on his desk when she tried her best to revive him. ‘I started shaking him and screaming,’ she told People.
‘I pushed him hard, and he fell on the floor. I tried to resuscitate him – mouth to mouth – and I was compressing him.
‘I was screaming for my neighbor because I didn’t want to leave him and call 911, and I just kept at it until they took him away. I miss him so much. He was the love of my life,’ his mother added.
