Amy Schumer Reacts to Claims She Erased Pre-Weight Loss Photos from Instagram

Amy Schumer hit back at claims that she wiped her Instagram clean to get rid of photos taken before her weight loss.

The comedian, 44, has recently undergone an incredible body transformation using weight loss drug Mounjaro, and has reportedly lost at least 40lb in the past few months.

And on Tuesday, she deleted all of her old photos, and uploaded a new post as she showed off her weight loss in a red mini dress.

In her caption, she stated that she deleted the pre-weight loss snaps for ‘no reason.’

However, after it was suggested that she got rid of the old photos because they didn’t reflect her new slimmer physique, the star took to Instagram to refute the narrative, and said she’s ‘proud’ of how she’s looked in the past.

‘I didn’t delete my old photos because they were pre me losing weight,’ she wrote on Wednesday.

Schumer went on state that her weight loss has been motivated by health reasons.

‘I’m proud of how I’ve looked always. I have been working to be pain free and I finally am. My endometriosis is better. My back is healing. I no longer have Cushing syndrome so my face went back to normal.’

‘I am grateful to be strong and healthy especially for my son,’ she added, in reference to her five-year-old son Gene, whom she shares with chef Chris Fischer, 45.

‘But your Instagram is not your identity it’s a curation of what you want the world to see and I feel great strong and beautiful and it’s been fun sharing that,’ she went on.

‘I didn’t purposely go on a “weight loss journey” that’s a fine thing to go on. But my focus has been on health.’

‘I’m sure my weight will always fluctuate. I’m a perimenopausal woman on hrt meds. Wishing you strength and self love on whatever path you’re on as long as it’s kind and respectful to all people. No matter their weight race or religion peace!’

The day prior she posed for a series of sizzling snaps, putting on a leggy display in a red mini dress that flaunted her slimmed-down frame.

The racy ensemble featured a draped waist and a strapless heart-shaped neckline corset, which she paired with black heels.

‘Back on my staircase bulls**t again, she penned alongside the snaps.

The star has been open about what she has tried to shed the weight after initially using Ozempic, which made her feel ill.

She has also tried liposuction, but is now on Mounjaro, a GLP-1 drug for type 2 diabetes that is also often prescribed for weight loss.

And Amy has been using estrogen and progesterone for her perimenopause symptoms.

‘My symptoms of being in perimenopause have disappeared. My hair is fuller, my skin is better, I have more energy,’ Amy wrote on Instagram in March. ‘I’m having a really good experience, so I wanted to keep it real with you about that.’

The I Feel Pretty star also told The Hollywood Reporter that everyone on camera is on some kind of weight loss drug.

Amy said in March she has had a ‘really good experience’ with a new weight-loss drug.

The Hollywood star said on Instagram: ‘Three years ago, I tried Wegovy. I was puking, I couldn’t handle it.

‘I don’t know if they’ve changed the formula, whatever. But anyway, I went on this Telehealth meeting with Midi Health, and it was cheap. I wanted to try it myself cause I wanted to recommend it to my friends who are nurses and teachers.’

Amy noted that the clinic ‘put [her] on estrogen and progesterone’. She continued: ‘I realized I was in perimenopause and my symptoms from being perimenopausal have disappeared.’

The actress has seen a marked change in her appearance since she adopted the new drug.

She said: ‘I have more energy, I want to get down more, if you know what I mean. I’m talking about sex. So that’s been great and Mounjaro’s been great.’

She is keen to be open and honest with her followers about her weight-loss journey.

The movie star explained: ‘Look, it’s not covered by insurance unless you have diabetes or like severe obesity, which most of the internet thinks I have. But I’m having a really good experience with it and I wanted to keep it real with you about that.’

Amy has actually been so impressed by Midi Health that she’s decided to invest in the company.

The actress said: ‘I liked it so much and I had such a good experience that I invested in the company.’

Amy appears to have lost at least 40lb in the past few months as she continues her weight loss journey, the Daily Mail has learned.

In 2015, she stated she was around 160 pounds during a speech at the Glamour UK Women of the Year ceremony.

In 2022, she shared she was at 170 pounds. Now she seems to be around 130lb. And the 5ft 7in star’s waistline looks to be about 28 inches.

‘Amy definitely has lost a lot of weight in the past three months,’ functional nutritionist Monica Partier told the Daily Mail.

‘She seems to have dropped at least 40lb and is around 130lb now, which is very slender for a woman who is 5ft 7in.’

‘And she looks a lot happier and proud of her improved wellbeing, which is nice to see.’
