A Coronation Street star was rushed to hospital on Wednesday after being attacked by a monkey while on holiday.
Liam Scholes, 22, who played Eli Higginson in the soap for a controversial hate crime storyline, shared an update as to Instagram as he made light of the situation.
Laying in a hospital bed, the actor could be seen with an IV drip in his hand as he sipped on a juice.
He wrote: ‘When you nearly get killed by a monkey in the desert. Game is over wait for the reel guys… just you wait.’
Thanking his girlfriend, Liam added: ‘Rosin Riley my very own life saver.’
In another update to his Story, he later included an update from his mother Nicola, which included snaps of the rest of his family meeting the monkeys.

She added: ‘Liam doesn’t have the same monkey appeal as the rest of the Scholes clan.’ It is unknown where the family are on holiday.
Following his stint in Coronation Street he has since starred in Waterloo Road as Noel McManus.
Liam split from his ex-girlfriend and Coronation Street co-star Elle Mulvaney in May last year, after two years together. He has since moved on with Rosin.
Meanwhile, Elle was spotted looking ‘very cosy’ with a mystery man at Radio 1’s Big Weekender over the summer, sources claim.
It appears the actress, who portrays Amy Barlow in the soap, has now moved on as she was reportedly seen looking ‘loved-up’ and smitten with the new man.
According to The Mirror, the pair ‘couldn’t take their hands off each other’ in the VIP section of the festival.
A source at the festival told the publication: ‘Ellie and the guy looked very happy to be in one another’s company.’
‘They didn’t shy away from everybody around them and looked very cosy together, Ellie seemed relax as she looked close to guy, it seems that she had moved on from Liam.’

Elle and Liam’s split reportedly happened ‘very suddenly’ and the pair have cleared each other from their respective Instagram pages.
A source told The Sun: ‘Elle and Liam were loves young dream and did everything together.
‘Their split has really shocked their co-stars and family and no one knows exactly what happened.
‘It was all very sudden and they have both made it clear to pals it would take a miracle for them to get back together again.’
The couple got together in 2022 just months after Elle split from ex-boyfriend Euan.
