Adele to Debut in Tom Ford’s Film with Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Nicholas Hoult

Adele will make her official acting debut next year after landing a role in a brand new Hollywood film.

The Hello singer, 37, will swap the stage for the studio as she signs up to star in fashion designer Tom Ford’s new flick.

Adele’s first ever acting role comes four years after she released her album 30. 

It will also mark Tom’s first movie in almost a decade, with Adele set to share the screen with Hollywood stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Nicholas Hoult.

According to US publication Deadline, the movie will be an adaption of the Anne Rice novel Cry To Heaven.

It’s understood Tom will direct the film and has also penned scripts, with his own production company Fade To Black financing the project.

Pre-production has started, with bosses hoping cameras can start rolling in Rome, Italy, in January 2026. 

While other details about the project are vague for now, it’s reported the film will be set in 18th century Italy. 

Owen Cooper, who shot to fame earlier this year in Netflix’s Adolescence will also feature, following his Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie.

Other names linked to the production include Colin Firth, Ciarán Hinds, Mark Strong and George MacKay. 

Also on the call sheet are Paul Bettany, Daniel Quinn-Toye, Hunter Schafer and Josephine Thiesen.

Completing the cast are Thandiwe Newton, Theodore Pellerin, Daryl McCormack, Lux Pascal, Cassian Bilton and Hauk Hannemann.

Ford’s last movie was Nocturnal Animals in 2016 that also starred Aaron Taylor Johnson.

His other acting credits include the 2009 film A Single Man with Colin Firth.

In between her records, Adele tends to keep a low profile, especially after bringing her Las Vegas residency to a close.  

That final show came in November of 2024 and she’s managed to stay mostly under-the-radar since after the marathon of performances.

Last August, the multi-Grammy Award winner said that she was going to be taking a break from the music industry.

However, last month she was spotted at the F1 Grand Prix in a rare public appearance for the singer.  

Adele was seen in the pit lane with the Mercedes AMG Formula One team as she toured the garage.

She even took a picture alongside Mercedes’ two drivers, George Russell and Kimi Antonelli.
