A former child star of Home Improvement allegedly punched and threatened to kill his girlfriend just months after a domestic violence arrest in his latest run-in with the law.
Zachery Ty Bryan has had a five-year restraining order granted against him in favor of a then-girlfriend who claimed multiple instances of physical and verbal assaults against her.
On July 3, the former partner first contacted police after Bryan had allegedly punched her in the temple after she playfully bit his nipple while they laid down together according to court documents obtained by TMZ.
The Daily Mail has reached out to Bryan’s representatives for comment and have yet to hear back.Â
The unidentified woman – who claimed to have dated the actor for three months-Â also allegedly told law enforcement that she was scared for her safety days later when she and the former Home Improvement star got into a verbal altercation.
She claimed that he had threatened to end her life and said: ‘Shut the f*** up or I’m gonna shut you up.’Â

 His ex also alleged to police that Bryan had took her dog and locked himself in a room and went on to punch the door which split from the door frame.
According to TMZ, the woman also claimed that he sprayed the dog in the face with bleach in June which was a month before first turning to law enforcement.
He has been ordered to stay 100 yards away from his ex-girlfriend until September 30, 2030.
In January of this year, Bryan was arrested for domestic violence on a presumably different woman.
According to TMZÂ at the time, the alleged victim told police in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina the actor punched her in the face multiple times.
She also said the trouble star, with whom she shares a child, put her in a choke hold, cutting off her breathing and making her fear for her life, according to the police report.
Bryan was arrested on charges of second-degree domestic violence.
If convicted, he faces up to three years in prison and/or a fine of $2500 to $5000, according to South Carolina law.Â

The Guardians of Justice (Will Save You) actor was released on $10,000 bond.Â
The identity of the alleged victim remains unknown and other details about the alleged altercation were not revealed.
The shocking mugshot shows Bryan with a mark along his left cheek and a pinkish mark on his forehead. He also appears to have some residue along his lip and chin.Â
The New Year’s Day arrest is Bryan’s latest brush with the law. In 2024, he was arrested twice for DUI.
He has also been arrested previously for domestic violence.Â
In 2023, Zachery served seven days in Lane County Jail in Eugene, OR and was sentenced to 36 months of supervised probation for domestic violence against an unidentified woman on July 28.Â
And in 2020, Bryan was sentenced to three years of bench probation and ordered to attend a batterer intervention program after being charged with domestic violence against his fiancée Johnnie Faye Cartwright at the same sherriff’s office in Oregon.
The Guardians of Justice actor has three small children – daughter Kennedy and twins Parker + Sequoia – from his three-year relationship with Cartwright.
‘I’ll always want what’s best for the father of my children,’ Cartwright told Us Weekly in 2023.Â

I’ve learned firsthand the truth will never align with what’s been put out there. I ask everyone to please be respectful of our privacy for the sake of the children and our families so the healing process can begin.’
Zachery also fathered four children – twin daughters Gemma + Taylor; daughter Jordana; and son Pierce – during his 12-year marriage to high school sweetheart Carly Matros, who filed for divorce in 2020.
This comes months after the Home Improvement alum was arrested for second-degree domestic violence in South Carolina, per online jail records and multiple reports

Zachery first found fame playing Tim Allen’s onscreen son Brad Taylor in all eight seasons of the ABC sitcom Home Improvement spanning 1991–1999.
After the wrapped, Bryan turned to film roles and earned guest cameos on TV series like Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
He’s also served as an executive producer on independent films, and most recently, has made a name for himself as a conservative commentator on platforms like FOX News and The Daily Wire.
Bryan, who was born in Aurora, Colorado, has also appeared in the films True Heart and The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift.
