Ana de Armas Cast Opposite Cameron Diaz After Romance with Tom Cruise Ends

Ana de Armas is in final negotiations to star in Reenactment.

The Knives Out actress, 37, is in talks to appear alongside Cameron Diaz, 53, and Benicio del Toro, 58, in director Grant Singer’s upcoming movie, Deadline has said.

Diaz is a longtime friend of de Armas’ ex Tom Cruise and they even starred in two movies together: 2001’s Vanilla Sky and 2010’s Knight And Day.

While plot details for Reenactment are being kept under wraps, the outlet reported the film will soon enter production in Los Angeles.

Reenactment will reunite del Toro, Singer and producer Black Label Media after working on the 40-year-old director’s 2023 feature debut Reptile.

Black Label’s Molly Smith, Trent Luckinbill and Thad Luckinbill are to produce Reenactment alongside Patrick Wachsberger of 193.

Meanwhile, Rachel Smith will serve as executive producer for Black Label with Bradley Thomas of Imperative, Ashley Stern of 193 and LBI’s Rick Yorn and Scott Greenberg.

Cruise and de Amras were rumored to be dating from early 2025, with their relationship confirmed publicly in July during a trip to Vermont. Reports of their split came in October 2025, though sources close to the pair said they decided to remain friends.

De Armas was supposed to star with Cruise in Deeper; filming was set to take place in England and Malta over the summer but there were issues with the budget. The film may come together at a later date, Variety added.

De Armas most recently starred in the John Wick spin-off movie Ballerina, which saw the actress play assassin Eve Macarro as she seeks revenge against those who killed her family.

Trained from childhood in the arts of the Ruska Roma, her mission plunges her into a brutal underworld of killers, codes, and consequences.

As well as de Armas, Ballerina starred Norman Reedus as hitman Daniel Pine, Keanu Reeves’ John Wick, Ian McShane’s New York Continental head Winston and the late Lance Reddick’s Charon.

Following Ballerina, de Armas teased Eve Macarro would follow the same path as John Wick.

She told Screen Rant: ‘I think that there’s going to be a few things to resolve after this one.

‘Clearly she will have some people coming after her for what she’s done. She’s now in a place where John Wick was.

‘She’s the one being hunted and people want her dead. After wanting to get in so badly, I want to see her handling a good situation.’

The Blonde star added Eve will have ‘nowhere to hide’ after Ballerina, and hinted other Ruska Roma members may be coming for her following the events of the movie.

She continued: ‘I want to see how she deals with that, having nowhere to hide.

‘Probably some other family members will come after her that she doesn’t know, so we’ll see. Really, this could go anywhere and I’m sure it will be really exciting.’

Her new film Eden – which also stars ‘it’ girl Sydney Sweeney – has been a surprise hit on streamers this fall.
