Alan Carr Enjoys Walk with Dogs as Celebrity Traitors Second Series Confirmed

Celebrity Traitors winner Alan Carr headed out on a walk on Tuesday with his pet dogs as a second series of the hugely-popular series was confirmed.

The comedian and presenter, 49, stepped out near Kensington Gardens and looked almost unrecognisable without his trademark glasses.

Alan was joined by his beloved rescue pooch Rita as he got some steps in after the show came to an end last week.

He dressed casually in a navy tracksuit and cap as he kept a low profile while out and about getting some fresh air.

Alan appeared to be solo for the trip out after a busy few weeks doing press for the show. 

On Monday it was revealed that Celebrity Traitors has been renewed for a second season just days after the record-breaking first series saw more than 14 million viewers tune in to see Alan win.

The BBC One series, which is a spin-off of the regular format of The Traitors, launched in October with a star-studded line-up of famous faces.

While rumours had been circulating that celebrity names were already being thrown into the hat for a second series, the broadcaster has now confirmed it’ll be back on screens in 2026.

Host Claudia Winkleman will once again be back as host as a new group of contestants take on the game of trust and treachery.

Brand new episodes of spin-off series Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked will also return to BBC Two and BBC Sounds.

The BBC’s head of entertainment, Kalpna Patel-Knight said: ‘In 2026 the doors of the castle will be opened again to welcome celebrity players to the game to see who can charm, who can scheme and ultimately who can survive in series two which promises to be just as unmissable as the first.

‘Plus with Uncloaked returning and today’s news of the positive contribution The Traitors brand has made to Scotland’s economy, there is plenty to celebrate.’

While the director of BBC Scotland added: ‘The Traitors is an immense TV success story and it’s fantastic to have multiple versions of it filmed in Scotland.

‘We welcome and celebrate it. This report highlights the many ways that Scotland is seeing a direct economic benefit from The Traitors filming here and, working together with our partners, we will use this success to promote sustainable growth within Scotland’s creative industry.’

The BBC also revealed the huge financial impact it had on the company – after drawing in millions of viewers over the successful series. 

The debut episode brought in a mammoth 14.8 million viewers, making The Celebrity Traitors the biggest unscripted title for the BBC since 2021.

Alan was unveiled as the winner of the BBC One series last Thursday night in a tense finale episode. 

Fans watched on as the comedian, who was picked as an unlikely Traitor by host Claudia, 53, at the start of the series, took home the £87,500 prize money after he remained undetected throughout the competition. 

Alan carried out two murders in plain sight throughout his time on the series, as well as voting off countless other Faithfuls, and even his fellow Traitors. 

Throughout the game, the comedian appeared to be revelling in ‘murdering’ his co-stars, after taking out best pal Paloma Faith early in the game. 

He told fellow Traitors Cat Burns, 25, and chat show host Jonathan Ross, 64, that he’d even got to the point of ‘enjoying’ killing off the Faithful after his co-stars got him to ‘do the dirty work’. 

And he faced an uphill battle to the end after the Faithfuls voted out his fellow Traitor Cat in the tense final episode, leaving him the last one standing. 

Convincing remaining Faithfuls Nick Mohammed and David Olusoga he was a Faithful, Alan made it to the final after Joe Marler was betrayed at the roundtable. 

Having made it to the end, Alan broke down in tears as Claudia uncloaked him – admitting it had been ‘tearing him apart’ to keep his identity secret.

The comedian said: ‘I was awful, I had no poker face but here I am. Maybe I do exaggerate a showbiz story now and again. But to just lie to people’s faces, it was tough’. 

In the episode, the final five – singer Cat, rugby player Joe Marler, 35, comic Nick, 45, historian and broadcaster David, 55, and Alan – faced one last roundtable where suspicions ran high. 

Joe, believing Alan and Cat were the Traitors, made a pact to vote against David while secretly plotting to expose them later.  

Viewers watched with baited breath as David desperately defended himself, before the singer was voted out after Joe made a last minute U-turn. 

Remaining Traitor Alan told viewers Cat’s departure had ‘thrown a spanner in the works’ as he had to battle it out for the win solo. 

Suspicions a Traitor was still lurking in their midst was still high as the songstress did not reveal her true identity in her departing speech.  

Reflecting on her time, Cat said: ‘I wouldn’t change a thing. I got to the final. I’m proud of myself.’

Nick then turned on ‘true Faithful’ Joe in the final moments as the final four headed to the firepit to cast stones and reveal if they thought there was still a Traitor among them.

In a shock change of heart, Nick said he doubted Joe after spotting him say ‘I’m sorry’ when he banished Cat.

Nick said: ‘I adore you, honestly I didn’t believe it but you voting for Cat is what sealed it, but I love you.’

Joe said after being banished by his fellow Faithful: ‘I read it so wrong. It hurts to be stabbed in the back last minute like that’. 

With just David, Alan and Nick, it was up to them to decide if there was a Traitor in their midst. David said: ‘I’ve never believed Alan is a Traitor.’ 

Nick also voted to end the game. The actor said: ‘I genuinely believe both of you are Faithful. I think we did it’ – only for Alan to pull the rug from under their feet when he made his bombshell revelation.

At the start of the episode, the team managed to bag £20,000 to the prize pot after an action-packed train mission, which saw a carriage explode once the time limit was up. 

Claudia revealed their win meant the total prize stood at £87,500.
