Chan was at the center of a separate false rumor about his mortality this past August, according to Life & Style.

The phony death notice in that case falsely claimed that his spouse Joan Lin had confirmed the death.

An accompanying image showed ‘the hallmarks of artificially created visuals,’ the outlet reported, and later ‘was confirmed to be AI-generated.’

Chan, whose real name is Fang Shilong, has been in two films this year: The Shadow’s Edge, in which he played Wong Tak-chung; and Karate Kid: Legends, in which he played Mr. Han opposite Ralph Macchio.

His iMDb page lists a total of six acting projects at varied stages of production. They include Panda Plan 2; Mo Sheng Jia Ting; and a rumored fourth installment in the Rush Hour franchise.
