Aussie Influencer Criticized for Seeking Free Wedding Vendors in Exchange for ‘Exposure’

An Australian influencer has been slammed after asking vendors to contribute to her wedding for free.

Til Death Events, a Brisbane based events planner, shared an email she received from the social media star asking if she would like to collaborate for the upcoming event.

The influencer claimed she had a ‘very limited budget’ and was getting married in Byron Bay on May 9, 2026.

‘I’m absolutely obsessed with your work. As soon as I found your Instagram I knew you were the perfect fit for my wedding!’ the email began.

‘We are hoping to have a sit down wedding with 100 guests and want our guests to be wowed when they walk in. The only catch, we have a very limited budget.

‘In spite of this, we are hoping to collab with photography, videography, a band and amazing styling.’

The influencer then said they would like to get the wedding published and this would be a ‘win win for everyone’.

‘We know the economy isn’t great right now so we were hoping you would be open to come on board as a collaboration for exposure. I have some great ideas, I think we get the wedding published which would be a win win for everyone.

‘Our date is Saturday 9th of May 2026 in Byron (venue tbc). What do you think?’ they ended.

The event planner shared the email alongside the caption: ‘The thing is we can’t feed our families with exposure. Hope this helps!’

Many people flocked to the comments section to slam the influencer for refusing to pay for the company’s services.

‘”So obsessed with your work” but will not pay for it. Artists deserve exposure AND PAYMENT. People are out of their minds,’ one person wrote.

‘I couldn’t imagine asking someone to do their job for free,’ another commented.

‘This is obscene! Imagine having the gall to think exposure is anywhere near enough payment for a wedding,’ a third said.

‘I never understand these because what exposure are they talking about? Do they have a million followers? Are they famous?’ another asked.

One person added: ‘Sounds like they want a wedding they can’t afford and instead of compromising, they expect everyone else to fund it instead.’

‘I need to know how you responded to this because the AUDACITY,’ another said.

Another person jokingly commented: ‘Published where? The local town’s online newspaper?’
