Peter Andre has revealed he spoke to wife Emily about filming romance scenes after signing up for detective drama, The Sunshine Murders.
The 52-year-old singer stars in the series as criminal pathologist George Constantinou, who uses his skills to help Greek Detective Helen Moustakas (Dora Chrysikou) and her half-sister Shirley Rangi (Emily Corcoran) solve crimes.
In the Channel 5 show, George strikes up a will they/won’t they romance with Helen, with viewers desperate to know if they’ll finally bite the bullet and share their first kiss.
Peter recently returned to Constantinou Bros Asimina Suites Hotel in Cyprus, where the series was filmed, and was reunited with Dora and Emily for a Q&A about the drama.
On how wife Emily, 36, coped with his romantic storyline, he revealed: ‘I’ve had this discussion with my wife before and I’ve said what would happen in a situation like that – I’ve not been in that situation before.
‘The thing about this that’s amazing is because it’s a family programme, even though it’s a murder mystery, it would never cross the line.’

Peter continued: ‘So even if, even if there’s a romance, you might know there’s a romance, but you won’t “see” it. You’ll always get the feeling of “maybe one day.”‘
The Mysterious Girl hitmaker added that Emily, who is a NHS doctor, was even giving him tips for his role.
‘I said to her, “is this what a pathologist would say?” and she goes yeah but not in that accent!’ referring to the Cypriot twang he adopted for the part.
Peter’s co-star Dora added: ‘I think that one of the most interesting things about cosy crime dramas, because I’ve never done something similar, is that it doesn’t put things in your face, it really does it in a very subtle way.
‘And I think this is really interesting because it puts the audience in a position of having to think or fantasise about what would be next. And it’s always a question mark at the end of everything.
‘Having love scenes in the theatre or in films – something that can happen. The turning point is that when you have a partner that doesn’t know about the profession, it is always hard if they see you with another man, or with another woman on screen.
‘It’s hard because they cannot understand the life of actors, the long hours, the things that we have to do to know for our work.
‘So I think it’s always a challenge for a partner who is not in that profession to understand. That’s the most difficult thing that we’ll have to encounter.’

During a Q&A with his co-stars about the drama he explained that there was no issue with his wife Emily, because given it was a family show, there was never a worry it would ‘cross the line’
Peter and Emily tied the knot in 2015 and are parents to Amelia, 11, Theo, eight, and Arabella, 20 months.
The singer is also father to Junior, 20, and Princess, 18, from his marriage to Katie Price, and brought his eldest children along on his Cypriot trip, as well as Junior’s girlfriend Jasmine Orr, 24.
They stayed in the adults only resort in a spacious suite with a private pool before later reuniting with the rest of the family at another resort in Cyprus.
During the Q&A it was explained why Cyprus had been chosen as the location for The Sunshine Murders.
Actress Emily mused: ‘Location is very important in television and in particular in cozy crime.
‘They almost become like a character in, in the TV show itself, and we needed to find a location that gave that really great level of escapism.’
She continued: ‘We wanted variety and diversity, for the audience at home who’s maybe sitting in the living room while it’s raining outside, and we definitely found that here in Paphos and in Cyprus generally.’
The production budget was also a key factor in choosing location, with Cyprus offering a far more generous tax rebate for film and television than the UK.
During his luxury getaway at the 5-star Constantinou Bros Asimina Suites Hotel in Cyprus, he opted to bring along son Junior, daughter Princess and Junior’s girlfriend Jasmine Orr
The hotel sits on the largest beach in Paphos, with Princess making the most of being by the sea as she posed for an array of social media snaps by the ocean
It was clear to see why Peter brought his children for his return to the island, with the star and his family treated to authentic Cypriot hospitality and a luxury setting

‘It was an honour to welcome the production of The Sunshine Murders to our hotel,’ said Aristos Diomedous, The General Manager, on behalf of Constantinou Bros Hotels.
‘And it’s been wonderful to host the press launch back where it all began.
‘Partnerships like this not only showcase this superb property but also highlight Cyprus as a world-class filming and holiday destination.’
Peter previously said of his role on The Sunshine Murders: ‘I did acting as a kid and then the music took off and I just ran with it.
‘I always said I’d get back to the acting in my 40s and now I’ve done my first ever TV series.’
Peter initially auditioned in his Australian accent before deciding to try out a Greek accent – a risk that paid off as the producers loved it.
‘I absolutely loved being on that set,’ he added. ‘Working with great actors, it was just a real pleasure.’
