Shona McGarty has shared a cryptic post about ‘not dimming her light for others’ following her reported split from fiancé David Bracken.
The EastEnders actress, 34, took to Instagram on Friday just hours ahead of her jetting off to Australia to appear in the latest series of I’m A Celeb.
Alongside a black and white clip applying make-up, she penned a lengthy caption with lyrics from her new song about ‘finally being herself’ as she marked a ‘new beginning’.
Shona and David are believed to hve split last month just over a year after the Irish musician popped the question in London’s Holland Park.
The soap star, who played Whitney Dean from 2008 until 2024, penned: ‘I’m finally learning to just be me, no filters, no apologies, no shrinking to make others comfortable’.
‘It’s a new beginning, and this time I’m stepping into life with open arms and an open heart. I’ve spent too long second-guessing, dimming my light, trying to fit into spaces that were never meant for me’.

It was claimed earlier this month that the former couple had mutually called off their engagement, but remain on good terms.
A source told The Sun: ‘They are on amicable terms, but have ended their romantic relationship.
‘There are no hard feelings, they realised they wanted different things and are better off as friends. Shona is now focusing on her music and career.’
Daily Mail has contacted Shona’s representative for comment.
They first met in 2023 after David messaged her on TikTok, asking if she’d like to duet on a song after watching one of her videos.
Last year the actress gushed that she knew the guitarist was ‘the one’ as the relationship felt ‘different’ to previous ones.
The pair also revealed that they had already started ‘looking at colour schemes’ and locations for their weddings.

Despite upcoming Bushtucker Trials the model, 45, appeared in great spirits and flashed a huge smile as she became the first star to set off down under.

Shielding her eyes behind chic shades the stunner was helped with her luggage which had piled high on a trolley.

A source told The Sun of Kelly’s appearance: ‘Show bosses have been after Kelly as a campmate for years and think she could possibly be their sexiest contestant ever.
‘She’s glamorous, witty and a familiar face to ITV audiences, having appeared as a panellist for Loose Women and other shows.
‘She’s guaranteed to make perfect TV viewing.’
