Katy Perry revealed the powerful inspiration that gave her strength to keep going amid her split from Orlando Bloom in her latest music video.
The singer, 41, released the video for her new hit, Bandaids, on Thursday. The song has obvious references to her and Bloom’s, 48, relationship and hints at the reason for their breakup.
Perry — who has since moved on with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, 53 — and Bloom called it quits in June after nearly a decade together. They share a 5-year-old daughter named Daisy Dove.
In the gory video, Perry sings about trying to save a dying relationship as she survives a number of unfortunate accidents, including sticking her hand in a garbage disposal, her shoelace getting caught in an escalator, and a tree log falling off from the truck in front of her and hitting her car.
She then gets her foot caught on the train tracks as an oncoming train speeds toward her, and that’s when she catches sight of a daisy, a touching nod to their daughter.
‘If I had to do it all over again / I would still do it all over again / The love that we made was worth it in the end,’ she sings, as she frees herself from the tracks at the last second.

At one point Perry tells her lover that she is asking for the bare minimum and that he’s not putting in any effort: ‘It’s not that complicated / To ask me how my day is.’
She then adds, ‘I’m flatlining trying to save this.’

Perry’s representatives have not responded to The Daily Mail’s request for comment about whether the track is a standalone release or the beginning of a new album cycle.
