Heidi Klum Reveals Natural Beauty in Glamour Germany After Medusa Transformation

She was truly unrecognizable under layers of cosmetics as she transformed into Medusa for Halloween.

But Heidi Klum stripped back the makeup as she was unveiled as one of Glamour Germany’s Women of the Year.

The German-born star appeared practically bare-faced in her shoot for the publication announcing her as the recipient of their Global Icon award.

No stranger to the getting the full glam treatment, Klum’s look was refreshingly parred back.

She appeared to wear minimal makeup – or at least an expertly-applied coat designed to achieve that effect.

Klum’s hair was styled seek and straight with a chic center part, but displayed her chunky gold earring.

She wore a delicate white slip top that displayed her ample cleavage as well.

Klum posted the image to her Instagram, where she gave a shout-out to her glam team of Linday Hay and Danilo Dixon

‘I am honored. Thank you @glamourgermany,’ she wrote in the caption.

The future Glamour award winner may now be a top model, but initially she didn’t fit the mold of what a was en vogue for a model.

‘When I started [modeling], I was told a few times that I didn’t fit the current “model image.” I always told myself: The world is big, there are so many different brands, if it doesn’t work here, it’ll work somewhere else. You just can’t give up and you have to work hard,’ she told Glamour Germany.

And now two of her children, daughter Leni, 21, and son Henry, 20, have entered the modelling game.

‘They grew up with my job and learned from a young age that it’s not all glamour,’ she told the publication. ‘While other people only see the final product, they know how much work goes into it: the hours-long calls with my producer, memorizing lyrics, countless fittings… I think they approach it very consciously. They know: success doesn’t happen overnight.’

The Glamour Germany shoot reveal comes not long after she transformed into a mythical being for her annual Halloween party.

She dressed as Medusa, and her version appeared to have been modeled after the one in the 1981 movie Clash of the Titans.

Like the 1980s movie character, Heidi’s Medusa comes armed with a bow and arrow and has a long snake tail instead of legs, in contrast to traditional depictions.

Heidi was accompanied by her husband Tom Kaulitz, 36, dressed as one of Perseus’ friends who gets turned into stone by gazing upon Medusa.

She also brought along her children Leni, Henry, Johan, 18, and Lou, 16, while Tom was joined by his twin brother and Tokio Hotel bandmate Bill Kaulitz.

At the iconic bash, the star-studded guest lip sipped on Grey Goose vodka, Patron tequila and Waterloo gin and enjoyed Butterfinger ice creams.

The Medusa in Clash of the Titans was a stop-motion puppet created by Ray Harryhausen, a master of the craft whose films included the original King Kong in 1933.

Ray Harryhausen’s work was recreated in loving detail for Heidi’s costume, with an exquisite level of intricacy from the gleaming scales to the folds in the facial flesh to the segments of the snake’s tail.

Certain touches not in the movie were also added to Heidi’s look, such as matted hair tangled with the snakes sprouting from Medusa’s head, as well as the fact her bow was designed to resemble a serpent.

As Heidi and Tom walked the red carpet, he adopted a variety of poses in which his character was turned to stone while facing down the monster.

While Tom took his various positions, Heidi as Medusa snarled triumphantly at him, her forked tongue spilling out from between her fangs.

‘HAPPY HEIDIWEEN,’ the German fashionista wrote on Instagram as she introduced the costume to her followers. ‘Don’t stare too long or you’ll turn to stone.’
