Beckhams’ Luxurious Celebration: £600 Wine, Champagne, and Special Dishes

Britain’s latest knight of the realm David Beckham was treated to his favourite food and drink as he celebrated his investiture on Tuesday with a lavish bash.

Sir David, his wife Victoria and their nearest and dearest partied into the early hours at Gordon Ramsay’s flagship restaurant in Chelsea after the ceremony at Windsor Castle.

Insiders told the Daily Mail that David’s longtime pal Gordon spared no expense when it came to wining and dining Sir David, revealing that ‘as David’s best friend, Gordon decided the best gift was to throw him a wonderful dinner.’

Chef Ramsay went off menu for the night, whipping up a bespoke three course meal including a Michelin-star take on his friend’s favourite dessert.

Guests, who also included the Beckhams’ three youngest children Romeo, 24, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 14, tucked into beef wellington followed by roly-poly and custard.

The traditional pud is a far cry from the clementine parfait and caramelised apple tarte tatin which feature on Ramsay’s menu but was a must-have for Sir David who once confessed that it was his sweet treat of choice in the Manchester United canteen.

Insiders have spilled that the chef even made sure Lady Victoria was catered for with a special order of sea bass for the star who avoids red meat.

‘It was a super-lovely, very chilled sit-down dinner with David’s inner circle,’ friends  have told The Sun. ‘Gordon took care of the whole thing.’

For wine-loving David there was a considered drinks menu including free-flowing champagne and bottles of the star’s favourite Chateau Margaux – which is a staple of his vast wine cellar at home.

As the drinks flowed Sir David’s friends and family couldn’t stop the jokes. ‘Obviously everyone kept making a big deal of calling him ‘Sir David’ and that was the running gag of the night,’ spilled the pal.

Sir David couldn’t bear to be parted from his investiture medal, holding onto the day’s precious souvenir all night.

The sports icon later shared a photo from the kitchen after thanking staff for putting on a special night writing on Instagram: ‘Thank you to this incredible team who made a special night even more special. Thank you to Gordon and Tana for making this possible.’

The man of the hour looked a little weary as he emerged from the extravagant event at 1am, clutching the hand of Victoria, who hid any signs of merriment behind her large sunglasses.

Lady Beckham had changed out of her smart navy dress worn at the day ceremony, opting for a slinky black floor length number and a fur bolero for the night’s festivities.

David meanwhile looked the part in a classic velvet tux, having earlier worn a bespoke suit created by his designer wife for the royal ceremony.

The couple’s three youngest children Romeo, 24, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 14, were also dressed to impress as they left the venue with Cruz’s girlfriend Jackie Apostel, 29.

Harper, 14, matched her mother in another custom design from the Victoria Beckham brand – a long satin slip dress, in a baby pink hue, accessorising with a feathered bolero jacket.

Jackie stood out in her burnt orange silk halterneck dress, also likely to be designed by Victoria, whilst her boyfriend showed off his sense of style in quirky braces.

Sir David was made a knight of the British empire for services to sport and charity during Tuesday’s investiture, notably his impact on football over a twenty year period and subsequent ambassadorial role with UNICEF.

The photo showed David holding hands with Victoria and Harper, with his sons looking smart in matching suits smiling alongside them.

‘No one deserves this more than you, love you so much xxx Congrats Sir dad’, Romeo captioned the photo.
