Kylie Minogue, 57, Shines in Beige Mini Dress at Earthshot Prize Awards with Prince William in Brazil

Kylie Minogue was a vision as she greeted Prince William at the Earthshot Prize Awards in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Wednesday.

The singer, 57, was among the A-list names at the event, which was established by the Prince as a global platform to recognise those accelerating ground-breaking solutions to repair and regenerate the planet.

For the occasion, Kylie looked nothing short of sensational in a beige tulle mini dress adorned with cream circular leather cut-outs.

She teamed the stunning ensemble with a pair of gold heels and kept her accessories to a minimum.

Radiating joy, the pop icon appeared in good spirits as she posed up a storm on the red carpet before meeting with Prince William.

The heir to the throne founded the prize in 2020 to inspire inventors and entrepreneurs to develop innovative technologies that combat global warming and help mitigate its impact.

At the event, five finalists will be competing for a £1 million prize each, awarded across five categories, with the funds dedicated to developing their innovative ideas.

The prize recognises solutions from diverse regions, industries, and stages of development, all united by a mission to tackle the planet’s most pressing environmental challenges.

Kylie is set to perform during the ceremony, alongside fellow artist Shawn Mendes, who looked dapper in a shirt and trousers.

Speaking about the event, Kylie said: ‘It’s a privilege and an honour to be part of The Earthshot Prize in Rio – on stage with the people and the ideas that could save our planet.’

Also set to perform are Brazilian music legend and former Minister of Culture Gilberto Gil, rising country star Anitta, and acclaimed singer Seu Jorge.

The awards show is hosted by Brazilian broadcaster Luciano Huck, and among the award presenters will be sports stars Marcos Evangelista de Morais, better known as Cafu, the former Brazilian defender; Sebastian Vettel, a four-time Formula One world champion; and Txai Surui, a leading voice for Brazil’s Indigenous communities and the environment.

Prior to the event, Prince William’s Earthshot Prize released a trailer for the awards, voiced by Matthew McConaughey and titled Meet the World’s True Action Heroes.

It featured the 15 finalists for the prize, who the Prince said he was ‘deeply proud of’ when he announced them last month.

The Earthshot has raised a record £24million in one year, its highest to date, according to accounts just filed at Companies House.

More than £23 million came in donations, including £5 million from The American Friends of the Royal Foundation of the Prince and Princes of Wales – William and Catherine’s other charitable organisation whose income rose to £12 million in the last financial year.

The Earthshot was separated off from the Royal Foundation in 2022, since when it has pulled in a total of £66 million.

Last year, the awards ceremony was held in an eco-dome when the glittering event is staged in Cape Town.

The heir to the throne undertook a four-day visit to South Africa, called Earthshot Week, which showcased young African environmentalists and included a meeting with the country’s prime minister, Cyril Ramaphosa.

This year’s event marks the halfway point in the Earthshot decade.

It comes just months after Kylie performed in São Paulo as part of her Tension tour, which marked her first performance in Brazil in 17 years.

It also comes seven years after the Can’t Get You Out Of My Head singer first met the Prince at the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust reception at Buckingham Palace in 2018.

Kylie attended the event in support of the specialist cancer treatment hospital, having been diagnosed with breast cancer herself 13 years prior.

She was declared cancer-free in 2006.
