Robert Pattinson put on a brave face, despite sporting a dramatic black eye, as he was seen filming Here Comes The Flood for the first time on Tuesday in New Jersey.
The actor, 39, shared a small smile as he made his way onto the set clutching a drink and the script for the upcoming heist film.
Wrapped up in a padded and fleece-lined coat, the Batman star could be seen with dark bruising around his right eye, presumably being SFX makeup for the role.
Underneath his warm jacket, Robert gave a glimpse of his costume for the scene, wearing a classic black suit and tie.
He was announced to be starring in the upcoming Netflix movie in May, alongside two-time Oscar winner Denzel Washington and Normal People breakout star Daisy Edgar-Jones.
Here Comes the Flood is being directed by The Constant Gardener’s Fernando Meirelles and was written by Mr. & Mrs. Smith’s Simon Kinberg.

During an appearance on The Graham Norton Show, the Silver Linings Playbook star explained she invited Robert over to join her friends, only to discover she had nothing to serve him aside from discarded food.
To the shock of her pals, Jennifer pulled the food out of the bin while Robert was in the bathroom and served it to him.
She admitted:Â ‘So I had my girlfriends over, we were in our pajamas, we were watching Little Women. It was December.
‘He was like, “Hey, I just wrapped something like a block away from you”. ‘And I was like, “Oh my God!” ‘Cause Rob is one of the girls. He wants to gossip. He just is one of the gals. And so I was like, “Come over!”‘
‘But he’s also like my daughter. He’s a great father, he’s a professional, he shows up on time, but I wouldn’t trust that he, like, put a coat on… He’s not going to eat on time… He brings out a very maternal side.
‘He comes in, and I give him a hug, and he’s like, “You have any food? I’m so hungry”. And I’m like, “Yeah, yeah, yeah! Come in, come in!”‘
She went on:Â ‘He goes to the bathroom, and I do have food, but it’s in the trash. And so while he was in the bathroom, I was just, like, pulling food out of my garbage can.’
‘And my girlfriends were like,’ she said, before imitating their jaw-dropped expressions. ‘And I’m like,’ she says, waving her hand.

Jennifer continued: ‘So he eats it and we’re all just kind of watching him eat this trash, and then when he was finished, he was like, “I’m still hungry, is there more?” And I’m like, “Well there is, but it’s in the garbage.”‘
Shockingly, the Oscar winner revealed that Robert was entirely unconcerned by the revelation and helped himself to seconds of the trashed food.
She explained: ‘He was like, “Oh, I don’t mind.” ‘And he just pulled it out of the trash and kept eating it!’
The Hunger Games actress also revealed during the talk show that she and Robert perform a naked interpretive dance in the film.
She laughed: ‘Lynne Ramsay the director challenged us during rehearsals, Robert and I had to do interpretative dance lessons together. We both embarrass quite easily, and we didn’t really know each other so it was totally humiliating’.
‘Then on the first day of filming she asked whether we remembered what we did and asked if we would do it naked.’
Fellow show guests Bruce Springsteen, Jeremy Allen White and Tessa Thompson were stunned and left full of questions, to which Jennifer quipped: ‘Should I have said no? You all seem quite shocked’.Â
