‘Rest easy Keith. We are going to miss your humour and quick wit. I’m gonna Miss having a cold one with you mate,’ he wrote.
‘Most of all the girls will miss the love their granddad gave them and Alex the love, friendship and trust you both had with each other till the very end, the long chats that ended in laughter. Love ya mate.’
Meanwhile, Alex’s daughter Mia posted a sweet photo of herself and her grandfather.
‘On Friday, heaven gained an angel. Rest in peace granddad, love you forever,’ she wrote.
‘Never failed to make us laugh. I’ll miss you coming over with home cooked meals, I’ll miss driving past you on the roads, I’ll miss popping in on the way home, I’ll miss hearing “hi love'” I miss you already.’
In recent years, Alex has enjoyed a life away from the spotlight following her brief split from footballer husband Brendan.
The makeup artist and sports star Brendan married in 2005 but divorced in 2014.
Their separation was short-lived however, with the pair reuniting later that same year, before getting engaged in 2016.

Shortly after being crowned the winner of the 2016 season of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, Brendan proposed to Alex – for the second time – in front of their children.
Brendan adopted Mia after marrying her mother in 2005 and the couple are proud parents to three other daughters, Leni, 12, Lulu, eight, Tobi, two.
At the time, Brendan told radio host Dave Thornton on the Fifi and Dave show: ‘I was a bit nervous, I didn’t think she’d say yes.’
‘Because we’ve been married before and obviously been divorced. It was really beautiful with the kids there.’
