Traitors Star Jonny Holloway Responds to Conor Maynard’s Claims About Charlotte Chilton

Jonny Holloway has broken his silence after Conor Maynard claimed he was also intimate with Charlotte Chilton around the same time she fell pregnant.

Charlotte, 32, announced in June last year that Conor Maynard, also 32, was allegedly the father of her unborn ‘miracle’ baby, having fallen pregnant as a result of a one-night stand.

Two paternity tests have since found that the singer, who recently announced his engagement to his girlfriend Kitty Bertrand, is not the father.

Conor, on Monday, suggested that the real father could be Jonny, after Jonny’s ex-wife Lauren Ward sent a private message to Conor claiming he also slept with Charlotte around the same time she fell pregnant.

Now Jonny, who appeared on season two of the series with Charlotte, took a swipe at his ex-wife as he addressed the claims for the first time.

Jonny said in the video: ‘Oh hello, it’s Jonny Holloway. Imagine waking up when you are in the middle of moving house from a separation that happened before The Traitors started filming that your ex-wife is insinuating you’re cheating on her.’ 

He wrote: ‘Imagine waking up to finding out your ex wife is spreading rumours about you when you split up before the traitors started filming. #jonnyholloway #traitors #veteran #awareness’ 

Despite the test results, Charlotte has continued to insist that Conor is her daughter Penelope’s dad and gave a tearful interview last week, where she claimed the DNA tests were negative because of a rare medical condition called chimerism.

She vowed to continue fighting to prove her baby’s parentage, stating: ‘I can categorically say it is impossible, there is nobody else that Penelope could have came from.’

Conor took to his Instagram on Monday evening, telling his fans he had been ‘left with no choice’ but to defend his credibility. 

He continued to insist that it was ‘100 percent not me’ that had fathered Penelope, and went on to reveal a private message he had received claiming that Charlotte had slept with a fellow Traitors star.

Reacting to a clip from Charlotte’s interview, he captioned his response: ‘Responding further to the recent news.. at this point I feel like I’ve been left with no choice.’

He began his video: ‘So I’m going to show you guys something. I received this DM.’

He went onto read the message, which included the claim, ‘He told me he slept with Charlotte around the same time as yourself / she fell pregnant.’

Conor went on: ‘I feel that the main reason that people are still doubting me in this situation is because of the statement that Charlotte is making in the clip that I’m currently reacting to.

‘You know, I don’t and have never wanted to expose or air out someone’s private matters but surely you guys have to understand that there comes a point where I have to defend myself.’

He then addressed Charlotte’s claim the DNA tests are not showing he is the father due to chimerism, as well as suggestions that he had bribed the DNA companies to get a negative test result.

He said: ‘I can understand that with Charlotte saying it can only be me, “It can only be Conor, Conor is the only person it can be”, that a lot of you are going to be looking for your own explanations as to why two separate court accredited DNA tests showed that I am not the father. 

‘You’re going to be looking at rare medical biological cases of someone that carries two sets of DNA. You’re going to being thinking, “Oh Conor must’ve paid off these multi-billion-dollar DNA testing companies”.’

Conor insisted he had neither the cash to do so, nor the motivation, saying: ‘I don’t have that much money, believe me, that would be great but I don’t.

He began his video: ‘So I’m going to show you guys something. I received this DM.’

He went onto read the message, which included the claim, ‘He told me he slept with Charlotte around the same time as yourself / she fell pregnant.’

He said: ‘But I hope with this new information that I’ve been given, that you can see that there is just a high likelihood that Penelope is someone else’s daughter.

The Daily Mail have contacted representatives for Charlotte and the Traitors star for comment.  

During her emotional chat with The Sun, Charlotte opened up about the ongoing paternity test row and her belief that a rare medical condition may explain the disputed results.

Explaining her side, she said: ‘I have researched and researched trying to find the answers because I know for a fact that the only person who can be my daughter’s father is Conor Maynard. 

‘And finally, after speaking to experts, I have found out that what might have happened is I could have been carrying twins but lost one very early.

‘Then strange genetics come into play, which means that twin could have taken certain DNA so her father could never show up on a paternity test. It is something called chimerism.’ 

Chimerism is a condition where an organism is composed of cells from different genetic origins, meaning it has two distinct sets of DNA.

It can occur through natural processes like a twin pregnancy, where two fertilised eggs fuse, or through organ/stem cell transplants, where the recipient’s body contains the donor’s cells.

It can also happen through the exchange of cells during pregnancy, known as microchimerism.

Charlotte added that having twins runs in her family, and so it makes sense to her that Penelope could have been a twin.

In the interview, she also claimed that she ‘will get to the truth eventually’ because she ‘knows the facts’ as she revealed she was speaking to experts to help her case and gather proof. She also opened up about having suicidal thoughts over the ongoing row as she admitted: ‘I felt battered and just thought, “I can’t do this anymore”,’ and said the scandal ‘nearly destroyed her’.

Charlotte said that she has received lots of abuse amid the paternity test saga, but still claims he is the father.

Conor first responded to Charlotte’s latest interview by posting a pointed dance stitch to Instagram on Thursday, appearing to mock her claims while promoting his new single, Cherry On Top. 

In the clip, he quipped: ‘Here’s an invisible tissue for your invisible tears,’ before tossing the box aside. 

As his new song played, the lyrics seemed to take aim at the pairs consistent paternity test row: ‘Why you keep on talking baby, won’t you stop / Ain’t nobody listening cause you talk too much, please shut up with a cherry on top.’ 

He simply captioned the post: ‘My response to the most recent news..’

In September, Conor fired back at Charlotte, declaring that it’s time for him to have his say on their paternity test row, while promoting his new music.

The social media star posted a video on Instagram telling fans it is: ‘My turn on the mic’, showing him in a mock press conference surrounded by microphones with sly digs at the paternity row. 

Journalists are then seen clamouring to fire questions at Conor, with the first asking: ‘Conor, is it true that you still can’t say no to women?’ Another asks ‘Roughly how much did you pay to change your DNA?’ 

Another holds a photo of a baby with Conor’s face plastered over the front as he yells, ‘come on the baby looks just like you.’

Finally, ‘Billy Jean from the One Night Standard’ asks: ‘You’ve been at the centre of a lot of drama and accusations over the past year and a half, do you have anything to say on the matter?’

After the birth of Charlotte’s daughter Penelope, she claimed Conor refused to acknowledge her as his own. 

A paternity test found Conor was not the father, but Charlotte claimed an ‘unidentified male was present’ when the singer’s DNA sample was collected.

The mother-of-one also alleged Conor ‘switched testing locations last minute’ and that her own DNA was not taken.

The pair then took a second test, which proved once and for all that Conor did not father Charlotte’s daughter, which was then followed up by a statement from her.

Her rep told the Daily Mail at the time: ‘For those of you who have followed Charlotte’s journey since her appearance on BBC’s The Traitors, will know she has fought an extraordinary battle for truth and justice with heartfelt conviction.

‘We are forever grateful to everyone who has shown unwavering love and support to Charlotte over the past 12 months.

Meanwhile, Conor took to social media to share his own statement, penning: ‘Today I received the results of a second paternity test, which was requested by Charlotte regarding her baby girl, Penelope.

‘As with the last test, this test has confirmed again that I am not Penelope’s father.

‘As Charlotte requested, Penelope’s, Charlotte’s and my DNA were all taken at a Ministry of Justice accredited DNA testing facility that was selected by Charlotte. The results are therefore conclusive.

‘This has been difficult for me and my family, and I’m so grateful for everyone’s support. I’m glad we can now finally draw a line under this.’
