Sylvia Jeffreys has admitted her kids are addicted to watching television on iPads.

In a candid column about parenting for 9Honey, the 37-year-old wrote about what her children might be missing out on in the age of streaming.

The Today show host told her readers that because her children expect another episode of their favourite show immediately, they ‘may never experience the absolute ecstasy of appointment viewing.’

She claimed that having to wait for her favourite shows to come on when she was younger taught her the value of patience and perseverance, a quality that on-demand streaming doesn’t have.

‘‌As a music-loving high school student, the early hours of Saturday morning (before netball matches) were devoted to Rage,’ Jeffreys wrote.

‘But as early risers, my brother, sister and I would often have to sit through half an hour of side steps and knee kicks on Aerobics Oz Style before those satisfying, repetitive opening lyrics finally blasted through the TV; “Rage, rage, ra-ra rage, raaaaaaaaaaaage.”‘

‌The mum of two also reflected that the TV Guide provided structure and deadlines for her when she was a busy teenager.

‘Homework had to be finished before Heartbreak High and broccoli had to be eaten before the Neighbours theme song played at 6:30pm.’

'I do wonder if...a bit of old school live TV might be a healthy kind of screen time for kids in an age of immediate gratification,' she concluded. Pictured: Jeffrey's husband Peter Stefanovic with their sons Oscar and Henry

‘Patience is a virtue, and while I wouldn’t give up my streaming services, I do wonder if, every now and then, a bit of old school live TV might be a healthy kind of screen time for kids in an age of immediate gratification,’ she concluded.

It comes as the television presenter has revealed that despite her flourishing career, family is her number one priority.

The Today show star told The Daily Telegraph in August that she always makes time for the two toddler sons she shares with husband Peter Stefanovic.

‘I don’t take for granted the fact that I do manage to get quite a bit of balance in that respect in my life,’ the 37-year-old said.

‘Because more than anything, I just want to be with my kids, especially while they’re this age,’ she went on.

‘I know that’s the most important thing in life, so I try to make sure I squeeze as much out of those hours in the day as I can, every day.’

The media power couple recently placed their Double Bay terrace on the market for $4.5million.

It is understood the journalists want a bigger home with room for their family, including their two young sons.

The luxury two-story abode within the cosmopolitan eastern suburbs cost the couple $2.7 million back in 2016.

They have since added some renovations including a parking area for two cars and outdoor entertainment space in the rear courtyard.

‘We’re not sure what the next step is yet. We’re on the hunt, so we’ll see what comes next,’ Sylvia said.

The couple tied the knot at the Ooralba Estate in Kangaroo Valley on April 1, 2017.

In 2020, Sylvia and Peter, 42, welcomed their first son, Oscar, now three years old, in February.

Just eight months later, the TV presenter revealed that she was pregnant with her second child, a son, Henry, now two.
