Nepo Baby Apple Martin Channels David Bowie in Gold Bodysuit for Halloween After Criticized Performance

Nepo baby Apple Martin dressed as David Bowie in a skintight gold bodysuit for Halloween, just days after her live singing performance was panned.

The daughter of Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow, 21, got into the Halloween spirit last week as she transformed into the iconic singer.

For her Ziggy Stardust-inspired look, Apple wore a metallic gold halterneck playsuit featuring tiny hotpants.

The playsuit was covered in colourful stars and she paired it with black slouch knee-high boots.

To complete the Bowie look, Apple dyed her usually-blonde locks a candy pink colour and painted the iconic lightning bolt on her face.

‘The spray hair dye does not, in fact, come out after one shampoo,’ she captioned the snaps.

Her Halloween look came after Apple was criticised for her foray into music, following her surprise gig.

After videos of her performing last month hit social media, an influx of comments saw the nepo-baby slammed for her vocal abilities – with many insisting she had not inherited the musical talents of the Coldplay frontman.

The aspiring artist, 21, was on stage at Cannery Hall in Nashville alongside musical duo Jade Street – however her performance was likened to drunken karaoke singing.

Users on TikTok wrote: ‘Nepotism has killed art,’ and, ‘This is a nepotism baby I don’t support.’ Meanwhile, another said: ‘Aren’t we bored with nepotism yet?’

While her Instagram post featuring the video was met with praise, some TikTok viewers appeared more scathing in their reviews of the performance.

Gwyneth, 53, and Chris, 48, who were married from 2003 to 2016, are parents to Apple and her brother Moses, 19, who has also set his sights on the musical world.

Coldplay has scored seven Grammy Awards and nine Brit Awards and sold more than 160 million records worldwide, while her mother has also previously shown musical prowess, singing in films Duets, Country Strong, and Infamous.

Accusations of nepotism were rife following Apple’s performance of song Satellite, which she collaborated on with Jade Street, which is due for release on October 28.

On stage, the model looked chic in a cropped white top, black mini, and knee-high boots – however her vocals were deemed wholly less impressive.

TikTok comments included: ‘That’s on inheriting Gwyneth’s audacity,’; ‘Sorry but she needs to leave the singing to her dad,’;

‘Is this a joke? I’m so confused… I was hopeful for a minute there. Maybe she’s better at acting?’;

‘Nepotism. Yikes. She’s not a singer,’; ‘Nepotism at its finest’; ‘Apple fell really far from the tree,’;

‘I sound the same after a few drinks at karaoke’; ‘I’m sorry but she needs to let her dad be the singer in the family,’;

‘Nepotism is wild. People with ordinary talent get the spotlight,’; ‘I’ve seen better singers in my town’s middle school plays,’;

‘Remember the scene in Bridgette Jones’s Diary [sic] where she sang? Yea, that one.’

However Apple had some supporters, and vetted comments on her own Instagram, which was also shared by Jade Street, read: ‘Gorgeous voice!!’;

‘You sound heavenly,’; ‘You sound amazing,’; ‘It’’ female Chris Martian now I don’t need to switch teams thank god.’

The model is studying at Vanderbilt University and told Interview magazine earlier this year that she is ‘a law, history and society major’.

However, she is dabbling in acting recreationally, telling the outlet, ‘I’m in the lovely Vanderbilt Original Cast, the esteemed cabaret theater group.

‘This semester’s show is a musical parody of Love Island called Love on an Island. It’s so fun. The songs are phenomenal.’

She said in the April interview, ‘I have a very low voice so whenever we’re doing harmonies, it’ll be like, “Alright, it’s the boys and Apple.”

‘I’m singing my absolute favorite song this semester, which I’m so excited about. I’m definitely not the best in the org, but I love it.’
