Maisie Smith has revealed she has grown closer than ever to her boyfriend Max George almost a year on from his heart surgery.
The former EastEnders actress, 24, revealed in a new interview how this time last year, ‘no one knew what was going to happen’ after The Wanted singer, 37, underwent a life-saving operation.
Max was fitted with a pacemaker last December after his mum Babs realised he had ‘turned blue’ and insisted he should go to A&E.
Fearing he’d die, Max wrote a will out in his iPhone in case things took a turn for the worst.
But 11 months later, she has confirmed their bond is stronger than ever and that she fell in love with him all over again.
The couple recently starred together in Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version of The War Of The Worlds in March, playing husband and wife.

Last month, Max wrapped the American leg of The Wanted’s 2.0 Tour alongside his bandmate Siva Kaneswaran.
Speaking about how he is getting on following his health scare, Maisie told The Sun: ‘He still has hard days and better days, but he’s definitely getting stronger again and it’s nice to see him performing.’
She added: ‘So yeah, he’s doing well. No one knew what was going to happen this time last year, so it’s really nice to see him doing what he was born to do.’
Maisie said she went to watch her boyfriend perform in New York, which she described as ‘a nice feeling to see him do that after the year he’s had.’
After their Christmas plans last year were left in turmoil, Maisie and Max – who met on Strictly Come Dancing in 2020 – are planning a special getaway.
She has seven weeks off over Christmas to ‘just sit at home, chill and do nothing’.
They have booked a trip to France over Christmas, where they’ll be staying in a little cottage together.
Maisie also shared that they might also book a hot holiday for afterwards, as they ‘deserve it’.

Maisie is currently starring in The Talented Mr Ripley alongside actor Ed McVey, who was Prince William in Netflix hit The Crown.
She is also playing Marge Sherwood in the stage adaptation of Patricia Highsmith’s 1955 psychological thriller about con artist Tom Ripley.
She also revealed how Max is looking forward to seeing her put her vocal skills to good use on the stage.
