John Cena Reveals Life-Changing Cosmetic Procedure

John Cena admitted he underwent one particular cosmetic procedure that was life-altering for him.

The professional wrestler, 48, opened up about how he got a hair transplant last November after WWE fans noticed his hair loss and started pointing out his bald spot.

The Peacemaker actor explained that his fans inspired him to make the decision that ended up ‘completely changing the course of his life’ in his August cover story for People.

Fans went wild back in March when they noticed his bald spot was no longer there, and the following month, he candidly revealed that he got a hair transplant after the relentless bullying.

‘They’re the reason for my optimism, my perseverance, my passion,’ he said about WWE viewers.

‘They don’t let you get away with phoning it in, because they’ll eat you alive,’ he continued. ‘As I was trying to hide my hair loss, the audience was bringing it to light.’

This comes after the star lost the Undisputed WWE championship to Cody Rhodes during SummerSlam at MetLife Stadium on Sunday.

‘I saw their signs that said: ‘The bald John Cena.” They pushed me into going to see what my options were,’ he said.

‘I now have a routine: red-light therapy, minoxidil, vitamins, shampoo, conditioner — and I also got a hair transplant last November,’ Cena added about his updated haircare regimen.

After getting the procedure, he said he wished that he got it done earlier.

He said that he initially felt ‘shame’ around a fairly common experience and ‘hates’ that many people feel that way about going through hair thinning or baldness, both of which affect a large percentage of the population.

‘I hate the fact that if there wasn’t so much shame around it, I’d have gotten it done 10 years ago. I thought I was alone, but seven or eight out of 10 [men] suffer from thinning or baldness’.

About the procedure he underwent, he added: ‘They don’t do anything except move your hair, one by one, from one area to another’.

He later said that he gets ‘fired up’ about being ‘shamed’ for getting it done.

‘If somebody’s going to sweat me for that, I don’t think there’s any shame in that,’ he told the outlet. ‘It completely changed the course of my life’.

Cena also said that the hair transplant allows him to land more acting roles and play more characters. ‘A different hairstyle can identify a part that can get me more work, do the thing I love to do,’ he explained.

As he prepares to retire from wrestling by the end of the year, he also discussed how his priorities have shifted and he is now focused on self-care.

‘Age plays a factor. I’m not as strong or as fast as I used to be,’ Cena said about his career plans to focus solely on acting.

‘I made a promise when I started gaining some notoriety, that when I’m a step slower, I will go, because there will be kids just as hungry as I was who have earned a shot to see if they can make it’.

Cena explained that his priorities have shifted at this stage of his career.

‘My health and my dedication to my partner are the tip of my spear in life right now,’ he said about his wife Shay Shariatzadeh.

‘So I think every time I go out [in the ring], I just want to make sure I’m able to give my all, but it’s time to step away,’ he said.

Cena married his wife Shay Shariatzadeh in 2020 after he met the engineer at aa Vancouver restaurant the prior year.

‘I decided to stay in the states for my procedure, which typically is a little bit more expensive to do, but there’s a lot of things that come with that, and I’ll explain that as well,’ he said before sharing that he went to a clinic in Chicago and revealed the eye-watering cost.

‘I went to Solve Clinics in River North, Chicago. They charge roughly $5 a graft. I had a little over 2,000 grafts, I think 2,100 or 2,200. So roughly 10, 11 grand for the procedure,’ the Netflix star shared.
