Katherine Ryan has opened up on her desire to get a facelift and go on Ozempic, as she explained she wants to be the ‘most glam’ version of herself for her fans.
The comedian, 41, who welcomed her fourth child earlier this month, revealed she had gifted her mother a facelift for her birthday last year and couldn’t wait to have her own.
The star, who hasn’t had any plastic surgery on her face before, added that she would always be upfront and honest about her procedures, because it ‘removes the shame’ and to keep it secret would ‘not be authentic to me’.
Speaking on Davina McCall’s Begin Again podcast, Katherine discussed her cosmetic plans, while insisting that none of them were motivated by the male gaze, as she declared: ‘I don’t care what men think”.
She said: ‘I want to go on Ozempic, if that’s what it takes, next year. And I want to have a face lift, because people are doing that younger.
‘There’s nothing I can do about my nose. A lot of people think I’ve had a nose job. I haven’t, I wouldn’t choose this nose.

‘But I don’t think I can have a lip lift because my nose is so like, Dr. Seuss. But I don’t want to do that for men. I just think it’s fun!’
The TV favourite has been open about having gotten breast implants in 2004 as well as Botox and fillers, and frequently jokes about the amount of plastic surgery other people assumed she’s had.
Katherine explained: ‘I think I have a healthy attitude towards all those things, which is why I’m happy to be joked about like, “Katherine Ryan’s had all this plastic surgery”.
‘I actually haven’t had any plastic surgery on my face. I even haven’t had Botox and fillers for a long time because I’ve been so pregnant. But because of pregnancy my face has been big and then small and then big and then small.
‘Do I hate my face every day I walk past shop windows and think, “Oh God, I’m a monster?” No. But I’m an entertainer and I think if people are going to come and see me on tour, they deserve the best, most glamorous version of me because it’s part of showbiz and why wouldn’t I give it to them?’
She added: ‘So I will do something about it and when I do, I’ll tell everyone that I did it. Not because I’m proud of it or ashamed, but because I can exist in the middle and just be honest and say “Yeah I wanted to do that”.
‘I think when you talk about having a face lift, you remove the shame. I think if you do take the step to have a face lift… for me I’m every open about everything so if I were to do that and then deny it, that would not be authentic to me.
‘And then also it might create a space where women who felt that I was always honest with them, would think “Oh how come my jawline isn’t doing that after four kids?”‘

Katherine pointed out: ‘The patriarchy thinks of think of everything being for the male gaze. I’m not thinking about you or your feelings or your appraisal of what I’m doing at all.
‘And men will always say, “Oh we don’t like lip filler”. I’m not doing it for you, I don’t care what you like. I don’t care if you live or die!
The Duchess star added that she had splashed out a whopping £50,000 for her mother Julie, 65, to get a facelift last year.
She told Davina how she believed the operation was valuable for some women as they aged because it enabled them to ‘see your own face in the mirror again.’
She said: ‘My mum is 65 and I gifted her a face lift for her birthday last year. Because I recognized that it’s harder for a woman born in 1960, who is traditionally so beautiful, to age.
‘Because of the values that were instilled for that generation. But also my mum knew that beauty was a depreciating asset. For that generation, it’s like “how dare you age and become invisible?”
‘I noticed how lonely it was for my mother. Not because of missing out on that gaze and constant toxic attention that she received all her life.

‘But I think it’s lonely for certain women to look in the mirror and not recognize their best friend, that is just yourself, your own countenance that you’ve gotten to know all these years looking back at you – it changes so much.
‘And I think that’s why people have big life events like loss or divorce or something and they’re not trying to impress Colin from accounts, it’s just a return to something and go, “There she is!” And see your own face in the mirror again.’

She said: ‘I don’t get filler anymore, I have looked more towards health and longevity, but I would be lying if I said I wasn’t interested in procedures. I liked the way Joan Rivers looked, and that she embraced people making fun of her.
‘I want to age ungracefully. I won’t go nuts with it, but I do plan to get a face lift in the future. My mum’s just had one and looks great. I don’t know if British doctors do the bum as well as in other countries, unfortunately, but it would be fun to look like J.Lo in my 50s
‘I think as you become older, especially as a woman, the best thing that you can be is joyful. But I still want to have a face lift. I’m sorry, I do.’
Last year, she hit back at accusations that she’d ‘had too much filler’, as she reflected on how quick assumptions are made about celebrities’ looks.
Appearing on Amanda Wakeley’s Style DNA podcast in October, she explained how during her second pregnancy she’d had to take steroids, which ‘makes you gain weight in a strange way’.

Katherine went on: ‘It was so weird and I looked so different. I had the audacity to continue to go out in public and film and to do stand up.
‘Loads of people on social media were like “Oh, she’s done too much filler” or “she’s really ruined her face” – kind of the way people speak about, I mean I don’t think I’m out of turn saying Simon Cowell sometimes.’
‘Or even David Beckham now, or Zac Efron. People are starting to talk about men and filler, and I think who knows who’s done what?
‘Sometimes you just gain weight or you age and it looks like it. They’ll take a photo of you from twenty years ago and go “Oh, look what she’s done” – I’ll tell you what I’ve done is I’ve lived a hard life for the last twenty years and raised three children, I look different.
‘But I wasn’t doing anything at that time and obviously Nina [her cosmetic surgeon] is such a professional, I couldn’t do anything when I was pregnant or breastfeeding.’
Reflecting on the work she has done now, the comedian admitted that she still has some Botox but wouldn’t be able to ‘hold filler up’ now.
She explained: ‘And now on the other side of 40 with my anatomy, if I had a strong Kylie Jenner jawline it might be different but I don’t, and I think fillers, I don’t think I can hold them up – for my anatomy.
‘So now I’m really interested in a little bit of Botox here and there, not too much with babies, because babies need you to move your face.’
Amanda jumped in with: ‘But also, doesn’t your audience need you to move your face?’
‘No, they like the Botox I think,’ joked Katherine. ‘I’m robbing them of an experience cause now I can’t really do the jokes about Botox’.
