They say that every little girl wants to be a princess when they grow up.
And for Brittany Porter this dream nearly became a reality… until it turned into a nightmare.
The bubbly blonde, 30, ended up engaged to marry the former king of Malaysia after a chance meeting on a night out.
Yet her experience with Sultan Muhammad V of Malaysia, 56, proved to be the opposite of the fairytale she had dreamt of in childhood.
Having prepared herself to adjust to life as royal, she was willing to give up her life in the States and fulfil her duties of producing an heir – yet she soon found herself unceremoniously cut off from the former King as he suddenly ghosted her.
Yet, Brittany – who now goes by Brook Lynn – has reinvited herself as a pop star and told Daily Mail that she’s never been happier since giving up her life as royalty.

‘He swept me off my feet’, Brook explained as she detailed the beginnings of their romance.
She revealed that the pair met last January through mutual friends but instantly formed a connection and quickly began talking every single day.
By this point, Sultan Muhammad had already abdicated the throne as the country’s 15th king – the first monarch in the nation’s history to do so.
‘It just escalated from there,’ Brook recalled. ‘He asked if I wanted to go on holiday in Oman with him… it felt like I was in a real Disney princess movie.
‘He proposed right after that, and he got me a blue diamond, because I said I wanted it to match my eyes.’
The pair wasted no time moving in together and the ex-King flew all of her friends in for a religious ceremony while they planned a legal wedding.
Reflecting on their ‘crazy’ experience, Brook claimed she was soon put under immense pressure to produce an ‘heir’, with the goal being to have a son as soon as possible.
While she soon fell pregnant, Brook suffered a traumatising miscarriage, which knowing what she does now feels like God was ‘saving’ her.
‘It was horrible,’ she confessed. ‘But after that, we just started fighting a lot.’

She revealed their main cause of contention was the amount of money she was spending, with Brook confessing she blew hundreds of thousands on shopping trips.
Yet determined to press ahead with the wedding, Brook jetted back home to California in order to meet with celebrity wedding planner, Mindy Weiss.
‘He was being distant with me and I was freaking out so I flew back to Malaysia – but he wasn’t there.
‘He’s never been one to have confrontational talks. When he was upset with me about something, he would have to go in another room and text me about it.’
Brook then learnt that he had jetted to Singapore and unable able to get hold of him, she headed there herself and attempted to confront him at his hotel.
However, hotel security refused to let her pass and the next morning she received a text from one of his staff informing her that he’d left the country.
Brook claims that she has not heard a word from the former King since.
‘He blocked me on everything,’ she revealed. ‘He just text my best friend saying it wasn’t going to work out.’

With nowhere to turn, Brook abandoned her belongings in Malaysia and jetted back to the States, where she is now living as she focuses on her music career.
Having met with music manager and former East 17 singer Blair Dreelan she is reinventing herself as a pop star, which she claims has been ‘healing’.
‘It’s been amazing, it’s been a healing journey for me, and really freeing,’ she explained. ‘I am grateful for everything that happened at the end because the songs are about him.
‘I feel like I’m in my villain era right now. Going through all of this, it really put me on a different path.’
She refuses to look back and and is ready to throw herself back into dating again as she continues to plug ahead with her music career.
Brook revealed: ‘I just finished shooting the music video for my first song Oh My Gosh, then I need to pick the next song I’ll release and shoot that music video, then I think I’m gonna drop the EP.’
While she insisted that she has moved on from her days as a princess, she warned any other women who may want to follow in her path.
‘I feel like this behaviour is a pattern for him,’ she said of being ghosted by the ex-King. ‘I fell for his trap.’
Daily Mail contacted Sultan Muhammad of Kelantan for comment but did not receive a response.

The following year, Sultan Muhammad abdicated the throne and in May 2019 the couple welcomed a son together.
Yet, just four weeks later, he abruptly divorced Oksana using the Triple Talaq Islamic procedure.
Under the practice a Muslim man ends his marriage by saying ‘You are divorced’ in Arabic three times.
Oksana insisted she heard about it from the Internet.
The former King, who is reported to be worth millions, is understood to have never met his son, who cannot be named for legal reasons.
And the sultan, who remains the ruler of Kelantan in Malaysia, is believed to have never publicly acknowledged the child as his.
