Hugh Jackman provides a peek into his post-divorce life as a bachelor following separation from spouse Deborra-Lee Furness

Hugh Jackman recently announced that he is divorcing his wife Deborra-Lee Furness. 

And the Hollywood star has been making the most of his single life by getting back to nature. 

In a series of photos posted to Instagram, the Australian actor explored beaches and desert trails around California. 

Flanked by a group of male friends, Hugh hiked stunning hill tops with beautiful vistas. 

He also took in a bike ride and a swim at a beach, before enjoying a beverage while watching the sunset.

In his caption alongside the adventurous images, Hugh wrote ’48 hours’ .

It comes after news that Hugh and Deborra-Lee were reportedly on ‘different pages’ before confirming their shock split last month after 27 years of marriage.

According to ET, there ‘is no animosity’ between the Marvel star, 55, and the actress, 67, as they ‘felt like it was the right time to divorce’.

‘Hugh and Deborra-Lee are both on different pages and in separate chapters of their lives,’ an insider told the publication.

Hugh was later enjoying a beverage while watching the sunset

‘They felt like it was time to divorce, but they still maintain a happy and cordial friendship.’

The source went on to say that Hugh and Deborra-Lee are ‘appreciative of their many years together and children’.

‘At the end of the day, it was their collective agreement to go their separate ways and do the healthiest thing for everyone involved,’ they added.

Hugh and Deborra-Lee shocked fans when they announced they were divorcing last month.

‘We have been blessed to share almost three decades together in a wonderful, loving marriage. Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth,’ the couple said in a statement obtained by PEOPLE.

‘Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness. We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition.’

The former couple signed the statement as ‘Deb and Hugh Jackman,’ adding: ‘This is the sole statement either of us will make.’

The pair had tied the knot in 1996 after crossing paths on set of Correlli in 1995.

During the course of their marriage, they adopted two children: son Oscar, 23, and daughter Ava, 18.
