Alli Simpson and her mother Angie have revealed the terrifying moment their roof collapsed on them.
The sister and mum of Cody Simpson – the singer-turned-swimmer who recently announced his return to music – attended The Golden Bachelor premiere on Monday where they exclusively revealed to Daily Mail that they had narrowly missed catastrophe prior to the red carpet.
‘We just had a little bit of a disaster at the hotel,’ Alli, 27, revealed.
‘Our roof collapsed in on mum and she was covered in black mud and our outfits were drenched,’ she added.
‘We weren’t even wearing these half an hour ago,’ Angie, 55, shared while gesturing ather sleek blazer ensemble.
‘We were in different outfits but we were covered in mud, head to toe. We’d flooded the whole hotel.’

The Aussie mum then gushed over Channel Nine, who saved the day after the unforeseen building issue.
‘Channel Nine were incredible. They came in with glam and we had 30 minutes to throw, rechange and get here.’
She hilariously added: ‘We’ve got nothing, not even undies to wear, back for tonight.’
Her son Cody recently revealed he’d be returning to music several years after he gave it up to focus on competitive swimming.
The Commonwealth Games gold medallist, 28, admitted to finding a newfound passion for music, three years after he released his last album.
‘I am working on the return to music. I’m getting a bunch of material together. It is touching on my whole life journey so far lyrically,’ he told The Daily Telegraph.
‘Sound-wise just drawing on the myriad of experiences I’ve had since I was a kid. It almost kind of blends everything I have ever been in a way.’
He added that his new music is by far the most personal and reflective he has ever produced in the studio.

‘I feel like it is representative of all of the eras I’ve had rolled into one, trying to figure out how to acknowledge every part of myself and make it feel fresh,’ he said.
‘I had such a break with the swimming stuff… It just feels so new and exciting again and it is really cool to experience that because I thought I was jaded and I am not. It is exciting.’
He added he was working hard to ensure his new music was released early next year.
Cody rose to fame in 2009 as a preteen after uploading clips of him singing to YouTube, which helped launch his musical career.
The singer moved to Los Angeles in 2010 to record music with Atlantic Records, cutting albums at Village Studios in West Los Angeles and performing at the Malibu Guitar Festival and The Troubadour in recent years.
He later became a professional swimmer in 2019 and won a gold medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
He put his music career on hold to try and earn a place at the Paris Olympics with the Australian swimming team, but was ultimately unsuccessful and returned to performing.
‘All you can do is everything you can to take what you’ve been given as far as you can take it,’ he wrote at the time.
‘You owe yourself the honour of cultivating your talents with as much fervour and intensity as you can.’
