The Australian media sphere has suffered its latest casualty after a popular radio show was axed.
It was announced on Thursday that KIIS 97.3’s Brisbane breakfast show Robin, Kip & Corey Oates would be leaving airwaves at the end of the year.
It comes just a couple of months after former Brisbane Broncos star Corey signed on to the show after retiring from the NRL last year.
In a statement released by ARN, it was revealed that the show’s final broadcast will air on December 12.
A spokesperson went on to praise hosts Robin Bailey, Kip Wightman and Corey Oates for their ‘hard work, creativity and commitment to the Brisbane audience.’
‘Their contribution has been significant and will be celebrated in the weeks ahead,’ the statement added.

They went on to reveal that the program would be replaced in the new year with a fresh breakfast show that is ‘bold, entertaining and fast-moving.’
An internal email, seen by Mediaweek, revealed that ARN ‘can’t reveal details just yet’ of the new show or its potential hosts.
However, an official announcement for the new breakfast show will be made at the ARN Upfronts next week.
The axing comes after KIIS FM’s Robin, Kip & Corey Oates suffered a devastating blow in the radio ratings.
The figures, released in June, showed the Brisbane trio in fourth place in the prized morning slot with a 10.6 per cent share of the audience.
It was a terrible result for the KIIS FM breakfast crew, which had seen a 1.4-point drop since April’s GfK survey.
The poor ratings didn’t reflect well on the station’s lineup, which was launched in January, and saw Oates join Bailey and Wightman after he featured in the popular ‘Find Corey a Job’ segment last year.
At the time, the poor performance sparked speculation that the team could be replaced by Sydney-based Kyle & Jackie O Show filling the slot.

ARN’s Chief Audience and Content Officer was quick to put to rest rumours that Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson would be stepping in.
‘Until we can prove their success in Melbourne, we won’t be taking them into Brisbane,’ Lauren Joyce told Mediaweek.
Meanwhile, Nova 106.9’s Ash, Luttsy & Nikki Osborne triumphed in Brisbane’s ‘breakfast wars’, landing the top spot for the second time running in 2025 with 13.1 per cent of the audience.
Not far behind them in second position in the survey, with a 13 per cent share, were Stav, Abby & Matt on the Hit Network’s B105 Brisbane.
Finishing third were Marto, Margaux & Dan from Triple M’s 104.5 with an 11.7 per cent share.
