Golden Bachelor Barry ‘Bear’ Myrden Debuts Blood Pressure Monitor While Getting New Wheels

Fans are concerned after The Golden Bachelor’s Barry ‘Bear’ Myrden was seen wearing a blood pressure monitor.

The Nine star was spotted in Sydney on Thursday while getting his car fitted with some new wheels, however it was the medical accessory he was wearing that set tongues wagging.

The 61-year-old wore a casual navy blue shirt with a pair of khaki shorts for the outing, along with some matching lace-up shoes.

Bear attempted to go incognito for the outing in a pair of sunglasses and could be seen enjoying a takeaway coffee.

While seeming relaxed as he popped into the car parts shop, Bear wore a blood pressure cuff on his left arm with a monitor strapped across his torso.

The device raises concerns around whether the Golden Bachie is feeling the pressure now that the show is airing on Nine.

The much-anticipated dating series hit screens this week, with fans of the franchise flocking to watch the inaugural Australian season on Monday.

However, just two episodes in, a lot of viewers have said the same thing about leading man Bear.

Fans flooded X – formerly Twitter – on Tuesday after the second episode aired to share their disappointment in the first Aussie Golden Bachelor’s seemingly withdrawn character.

‘Did Bear’s personality get lost in the post?’ one person wrote.

Another similarly added: ‘Is Bear’s personality in the room with us?’

‘Thought I’d give #GoldenBachelorAU a watch. Bear is a little too bland but absolutely here for the unhinged ladies,’ one person chimed in.

Someone else savagely penned: ‘The Golden Bachelor is more like the Golden Bore. Personality 0.’

‘Old mate Bear is a bit dead,’ one fan wrote, with another adding: ‘Is Bear even awake at this point???’

‘Was the guy Bear tranquilised before the show… and that’s why he’s so bland and boring? I guess it goes with his boring real name, Barry,’ one more wrote.

As far as bones to pick go, this isn’t the first time fans of the show have slammed the Aussie Golden Bachelor, with the leading man’s nationality making waves online.

Shocked viewers took to social media following the show’s debut to share their thoughts about the Samantha Armytage-hosted series featuring a Canadian-born Bachelor.

‘Why is the Australian Golden Bachelor NOT AUSTRALIAN?’ one person asked.

‘Look, love him. I’m sure he’s a great man… but why have we got a Canadian as the Aussie Golden Bachelor?’ another added.

‘The accent… Could we not find an Aussie accent?’ a third chimed in.

‘Clearly the producers think we don’t have any polished, suave Australian men in Australia,’ someone else sniped.
